Review: Incredibly beautiful book! - Though I am a fan of Iyanla and her message of healing and peace, I was unaware of this book. Thanks to a friend who had just finished reading it and told me about it, I went ahead and bought it. One of the best decisions I ever made. This book is like a good friend who loves you unconditionally and will not leave you as you journey through the wound of the past and present. I'm so glad I bought this and in fact I bought a 2nd copy for a friend. It is filled with so many comforting words and a tangible warmth. Really beautiful. I cannot express how important and effective journal writing is to achieve awareness of what is REALLY going on with your emotions. Forgiveness calls upon you to take it's hand gently and heal. The book combines Journaling about specific areas of forgiveness, EFT Tapping and meditation. A beautiful CD is included as well with guided meditation. I love it. This combo is bound to carry you through your breakthrough and begin your release from resentment. Incredible book. Thank You Iyanla. Review: A Read Necessary to Free the Mind, Heart, Body and Soul - This year of 2014 sent me on a “literacy path” deemed necessary for my personal growth in multiple ways. From increasing confidence; to the transformation of my mindset on a mission to understand my place as a human on this planet, I made it my goal to indulge in meaningful insightful text. As I completed each one, I felt a sense of accomplishment knowing that the author had indeed achieved their purpose. Understanding the views and the “Big” message being conveyed from this genre of books always came easy for me. Having the necessary solutions to rid me of the multiple inner conflicts within myself was another. Unfortunately, I’d find myself feeling temporarily optimistic about breaking free from inner baggage and back to my regulated routine within weeks. The problem with this is that I was not getting anywhere. As I think about it all, the first thing that comes to mind is the “hamster in the running wheel concept.” Uploading this book on my kindle, I stated to myself, “What will make this one different from any of the others I’ve previously read?” That was until I read it. In the bible, it clearly states that faiths without works are dead. In the intro of her series on the OWN Network, Vanzant clearly states that personal “life work” was required for her to become her best self. Ladies and gentlemen, this book provides the templates necessary for you to conduct the “life work” necessary for letting go and truly forgiving. Reading each section, I realized why she offered the “Forgiveness Series” on line. People this is not another one of those self-help guides where you take notes and move on with your day trying to figure out how to shift and release your inner toxic captives. The mandated assignments enclosed requiring effort, time, and repetitive practice indeed provide what is really required from the inside out to wholeheartedly forgive. Realizing now that the act of forgiving is not an overnight process, I thank you Iyanla for providing the real template on how to get it done. For individuals sincere about the process of exonerating in order to have an enjoyable and fuller life, pick this one up at your book store or upload it tablet or reading device. This coming New Year, make it a 2015 resolution to not only forgive; learn what’s required by a renowned expert on what personal actions are necessary to see it through.

This is a must read if you want a quick return to inner peace.
This book has helped to fundamentally shift my perspective in certain areas of my life. Where previously I was stuck in self righteous blame and judgement, through the very simple tapping processes in this book I have been able to let go of so much anger and justification and blame. I am so much more at peace and am able to engage with the same people in a neutral manner, which really helps to gain more positive outcomes. The beautiful prayers and stories also help to soften and shift mindset. I would recommend this book to anyone who has even a small spark of anger, self righteousness or judgement in them, for a quick return to peace.

Therapeutic!!!!
I never thought of "forgiveness as a form of love" until I read it in the book. Reading about forgiveness is one thing, but having a mentor walk you thru the steps is another. Iyanla is authentic...she doesn't sugar coat anything. She says for some the process can be like extracting a tooth without Novocain (which I can relate to as I sit with a tooth dangling, waiting for my oral surgery appointment) and for others like walking up a steep mountain with 100 pounds on your back. I love her candidness - she was going to beat the crap out of someone and she isn't even prone to violence. Someone real is my hero, not to say that I put her on a pedestal. I just respect people who are frank. Venus Andrecht is another woman I love (she's a radio personality and intuitive counselor. I don't like some things about her, but I respect her and love her regardless of any flaws.) The same is true with Iyanla. If you've read Peace from Broken Pieces, this is the next book. Disclaimer - I haven't gone through all 21 days, just the first and I perused the rest of the days. Iyanla recommends 30-60 minutes a day as you need to journal and process stuff and do the work. I just don't have kind of time commitment right now, but vacation is coming - Hallelujah. I love the concepts and will work the book when I have 21 days to devote to the whole process. Also, I would advise getting the physical version of the book. Kindle is great for space saving, but I'd rather be writing in a physical book. On the other hand, keeping notes on the Kindle version is private. If you sign up with Hay House, verifying your purchase, there are lots of bonuses including an upcoming and free internet workshop/lesson (valued at $49) and audio lessons and PDFs, etc. The EFT portions can seem daunting, but the content, otherwise, is engaging.

Solid read
This book takes you through all the people in your life you might need to forgive. There are anecdotes throughout that provide context. I appreciated the day by day break down, filled with prayers, quotes, and various exercises you could engage in. Overall worth the read if you are trying to delve deeper into the notion of forgiveness.

Forgiveness is the Principle that saves and changes lives. ~
One can only have the highest respect for the author of Forgiveness. She is a natural thinker and one who continues to teach from her own learnings. She walks the talk. I wish we taught the concept of forgiveness starting in Kindergarten. How beautifully the world would balance itself if the ammunition of revenge, resentment and hatred were neutralized at inception. I recommend this book 100%. It will reshape the lives of those who follow it through. Seeing the name Glenn Clark in her recommended readings filled my heart with new hope for us all. GREAT BOOK. Thanks Iyanla!

Changes your mindset!
I have read all of Iyanlas' self help books and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who seeks to improve their overall well-being. This book in particular, helps the reader to learn the art of forgiveness. I say "art" because after reading this book you realize the act of forgiving is more in depth that we realize. Get this book, I promise you you will not be disappointed!

A book all can benefit from, written by a loving teacher..
I just love Iyanla and have such tremendous respect for her. This book is beautifully written. This book requires you to write out and journal and perform EFT (a form of therapy that utilizes tapping to activate acupuncture points), EFT is a powerful tool based on the pioneering work of Gary Craig. I feel the tapping in combination with the writing makes it even more effective. I particularly found the work on self forgiveness most beneficial (I had to work on forgiving myself for not forgiving others). We all have things we carry that have hurt us and sometimes we don't even realize the full impact this has on our growth, development and ultimate ability to experience joy. I love that this book is not a "feel sorry for yourself" book, it is empowering and she helps you take responsibility for perpetuating your own suffering. The book also includes a CD with prayers and meditations, which I found to be so peaceful and insightful. Thanks for your beautiful and humble writing Iyanla.
