BambooMN 6.3" Mini Bamboo Disposable Tongs - Toast Tongs - 100 Pieces

I was excited to get these and use them on my charcuterie boards. The picture shows them to be a brown bamboo color. They are a terrible green color. They will not look good on my brown wooden boards. Disappointing.

I bought these for my toddler to use with a sensory bin and transfer activities. They are good for a younger child, because they aren't two stiff and the size is about right. The aren't amazing quality, but have held up to basic and use and concessional washes. At the price and because they come in a set, I don't care if I have to toss one out eventually. They are not super strong, so wouldn't be suitable for lifting heavy things.

These bamboo tongs were perfect for the Baked Potato and Salad bar at my wedding. They were sturdier than i thought they would be. I was very worried about guests breaking them, so I ordered way more than we needed. I'm happy to say not a single one broke. My wedding was eco-friendly, with all compostable materials. These fit right in! The small size was really nice, the tongs were able to fit in all the different toppings but still large enough for guests to use the tongs without having to touch the food. Love these "disposable" tongs (I say "disposable" because we wash and reuse them over and over. We keep some by the toaster and some by the stove. They have a strong grip, and are easy to maneuver; great for flipping small pieces of chicken or cutlets, thick slices of frying potatoes, etc. Nice on an informal serving plate, too. This is our second set of 10 (only 3 are left from the original set, which were purchased 6 years ago!)

I use these tongs practically every day! Let me say that one does not last forever- but they do last quite a long time. I first ordered 10 pieces in 2011. A second order in 2013 of 20- is still going strong. I've even shared some with friends. I use these tongs to get toast out of the toaster, to toast tortillas and red peppers on the gas burner, in the pickle jar, to turn skillet items like bacon, hot dogs or chicken pieces. They give you the ease of tongs, but are even thinner- making flipping things like a piece of bacon super easy.To wash, I simply put them in the utensil rack of the dishwasher- putting each of the ends into a utensil slot so when the bamboo expands in the wash it will dry right back to the way it was without warping (the ends splay out if they get soaked).

I am not a bamboo tong expert, having had no others with which to compare. These tongs perform my intended task of gripping small morsels of food on family buffets, and I hardly see that they could be improved. The cost is reasonable and they are washable and reusable as well. One of those good ideas that come along occasionally.

I used these as serving utensils for wedding appetizers- veggies & fruit trays, crackers & cheese, rolled sliced meat, and pickle tray. They worked great. I did try to wash them (in the dishwasher) and save for a future use. If you dishwash them and then put elastics around the ends while they are hot, they will return to their normal shape. I'm sure hand washing would be fine, but after the hard worked involved in preparing for the event, I decided that I was either going to toss them or machine wash them. Great price for their usefulness. I thought about buying low cost stainless, but saw so many bad reviews about the tongs not having enough strength or spring, I'm glad I went with these.

We used the bamboo tongs for a neighborhood get together, each had their on tong or tongs for the food and made it easy to social distance and not use community serving ware. Combined with the bamboo plates the whole deal was sustainable and biodegradable. Love bamboo.
