It doesn't bounce in the way that you're probably imagining it bounce. Certainly not like a cartoon rubber hammer to the face. But I used it to drive metal landscaping edging recently. If you hit it solid, there's really no response. Just a solid drive. But if you start to get off with your hits, you will notice it rebound off to the sides a bit.
