"Eh."
_If you see the word 'SPOILER' beforehand...save yourself._I may have become a bit cynical in my old age, since I first began my 'Last Vampire' plight with Christopher Pike more 10 years ago. I have to say I am disappointed with the final Thirst book (btw--'THIRST'? Really? I hate the new series title, extensively).(mini-SPOILER) It felt like the plot from the initial alleged ending. What with the aliens and flying saucer, the return to Lake Tahoe, the mental returns to dark ancient times in Sita's past...it all felt entirely too understated. It felt as if the author really didn't have too many more places to take the main character, hence the return to the storyline first used to end the series. (/END mini-SPOILER)I was a bit confused by Matt's character. I kept waiting for the motivation behind his supernatural idiosyncrasies to become much more apparent, which they didn't...and Sita and his love connection should have developed more if Pike was taking that route. I didn't feel the 'tension' really played a part and wasn't needed. I sincerely hope the main reasoning behind their relationship was not for sex appeal, because that aspect didn't enhance the plot or climax.Also...I was really disheartened by the character of Simon. While I found myself loving him in the previous collection, he rather annoyed me in these books. Although I can appreciate this fundamental distinction on the part of the author, because we're given evidence that he really did narrate the first books, and now we're seeing him from Sita's perspective. We're shown that he is a real human with flaws, which I can appreciate.I tired very quickly of continuing to hear about 'Teri.' She didn't play a huge role in any of the books, her character was small, and as the audience we weren't made to really understand what was so spectacular about her that Sita and Matt loved her so exceedingly, the continued mention of her was eye-roll inducing.Don't get me wrong, I am still a HUGE HUGE 'Last Vampire' fan, and am extremely grateful for these last three books. I have read the series at least 5 different times over the years. It is one of my very favorite series to return to, and I imagine I will continue reading the first collection for many more years. I was very much looking forward to continuing Sita's adventures since she did not feel finished after the first books. I believe this series is Pike's greatest accomplishment and I know many of you share my gratitude for this continuation. For those of you who feel that the series may continue because the author left the last line so open for interpretation, I am sorry to inform you that there will be no more books. The author feels tired, and Sita feels very tired. Unless there's another Vampiric phenomenon in 15 years...this is the last we'll see of Sita.

I want more, more, more!
Sita has had my heart since I met her. Her spunk, wit, and most importantly, her love, empathy, and compassion makes for the perfect lead character. If you haven’t started this series yet, you should! In this book, Sita must confront someone who she fought against in the past, but barely got away from. Unfortunately, she blocked her memories from the past event and must unlock them to confront the evils she’s facing now.I loved hearing more stories about Krishna! In this book we get to read about another memory Sita has with Krishna and Yaksha. There’s something in the memories of Krishna that makes me smile when I read them.I can’t say enough good about this series! But with the good, there is one big sad part...I’m not ready to say goodbye to Sita 😢Admittedly, I went online and googled to find out what comes next for my favorite hero. I came across a recent post by Christopher Pike that says he has books 6 and 7 planned. I want them now!! Haha.I hope he doesn’t wait too long to write them. I want to read the conclusion of Sita’s story!! I hope you give this series a try! Happy reading y’all!

Heart of story outweighs its flaws...! Updated 4/10/2013
Is this really the last THIRST book?- There is room for more to happen. But I think readers will appreciate this ending more than the alleged conclusion in THIRST 4.Thirst 5 begins right where Thirst 4 ended, and it never stops. Sita (that's her on the cover) and the gang head to the east coast when she finds a picture of people she knew a long time ago. A few action scenes later, they arrive and the real story begins.Sita reveals her role in World War II, but some details are blocked. Pike is nearly no holds barred when it comes to this part of the story; it may be difficult for some readers to get through.I found the use of present tense a bit awkward when Sita talks about World War II, but it makes sense a little later in the book. And the climax becomes a bit more convoluted than necessary--be patient, it will make some sen.se at the end. There are flaws, but the heart of this story outweighs them ten to one.THIRST 5: Brutal violence, some sexuality, some language - recommended for 17 and up.5 starsPike has commented on Facebook that he actually hopes to write more of Sita's story. He knows that many things still need to be answered...and he has also stated that he figured this book would be "love it" or "hate it". Pike mentioned that the original story arc (Thirst 1 and 2) ended before he really wanted it to and that "Creatures of Forever" left him confused as well--the story felt unfinished. It was not until he finished writing Thirst 5 and going through proofs that he truly understood the significance of "Creatures of Forever". I actually agree. Thirst 5 allowed me to rethink how it originally ended in.1997. So far, my overall rating for Thirst is 4 out of 5...which was my overall rating for "THE LAST VAMPIRE" as well. Here is to hoping that Pike's publisher approve more Thirst books so we can know how it ends for real!

Read Better
I have to admit that this book isn't quite up to scratch with the previous parts this series but after reading another Pike book called Witchworld I think that they will end up joining together. I loved some of the new characters in this book but the ending was a bit of a let down and I hope that Sita's love life would stop being so predictable. I'm a loyal Sita fan and have been reading her books for the last 15 years hopefully the next one will be back up to the older ones previous standard but even if the next one has 1 star I know I will read it because it's Sita and I have to know what will happen.

AMAZING
Similar to my review of the previous book but i still feel the same way so will just give u a gentle hint: AMAZING BUY ITi loved this book there is lot of action and excitement, a must have for any book. However, it was the exploration into so many deep areas that made the book so great and thought provoking, with issues such as: faith, spirituality, morals, ethics, power, destruction, intelligence and higher thinking. I am only 14 but i think this book can cope with older readers. Some people have said they found this book confusing but i feel it just needs focus, and the complex plot made it even more thought provoking. Issues and aspects in this book stay with me today. The only bad thing is the quality of the physical book but who really cares about thatAMAZING BUY IT!!!

Loved it!
I have been a fan of Christopher Pike books for years since I was a kid. The Last Vampire series has been my all time favourite and this never let me down. I always finish reading one hoping that there will be one more adventure in the future.
