Love the Dogit Fountain. The 3 pack of fillers makes is a cost-effective means of assuring that you've got the filters you need on hand when you need them. The instructions for the fountain are to replace the filter every 3 weeks, or sooner if when you're cleaning the fountain (once a week) you notice that it contains debris -- such as pet hair or food particles. Some reviewers have noted that the filters cause there to be charcoal flakes in the water. I prepped the filter the way that I would the filter for a Brita or Pur Pitcher, and have had zero charcoal in my dog and cat's Dogit Fountain. The tip is that prior to using the filter to rinse it by holding it under a medium stream of tap water for approximately 30 seconds, and to then place the filter in a bowl of filtered water for 15 minutes. You will probably have to initially submerge it by holding it down in the bowl of water for a second or two until the water molecules replace the air molecules in the filter so that it doesn't just float on the water. After 15 or so minutes, just rinse the filter for a few seconds and then it's ready for use. I highly recommend filling your Dogit Fountain reservoir with filtered water as this will be the healthiest and best-tasting for your animals.

Great product. Easy to clean, easy to fill (you don't even have to take it to the sink - just pour water in until it gets to the marks) The dogs love having fresh,FILTERED,circulating water. When I had a big bowl of water on the floor for them, it would get dirt and hair in it over the day, and looked yucky. Now, their water is fresh. One thing to know - you need to clean the PUMP once per week or so, especially if you have long-haired dogs. The entrance where the water enters the pump can beome clogged with dog hair, etc and the pump won't work. This is spelled out in the instructions. It's very easy to clean it - just pull off the front cover and rinse it off. You'll notice that the water isn't being moved as fast when the pump is starting to get clogged. Also, this product is QUIET. Have recommended them to my dog friends who have gotten the product and also love it. Another benefit - my dogs drink more water, which is healthy for them.

I've been looking for a replacement water bowl for a long time. I wanted something that would hold a lot of water. I looked a bunch, including those that had a jug to keep the bowl full, but this one caught my eye because it had a filter, held a lot of water, and was pretty reasonably priced. I tested the electricity usage, and by keeping this plugged in all day, it costs about $0.03/day. That's not bad. My dog seems to enjoy it too. If they could improve this product, I'd include a tube that extends from the pump up a little so that putting on the top doesn't require aligning it to the pump. Next I'd make the bowl clear or a portion of the bowl clear to see how much water is left and if there's anything floating around in it, like dog food. Overall though, I'd buy another one of these. The pump looks like it'd be fairly easy to replace if it died.

My golden retriever loves this drinking bowl! It makes me a happy pet parent knowing my dog is getting a fresh and clean water supply! Also, the machine doubles as a very soothing (quiet) background noise. This is my second time purchasing this product after the motor failed with over a year of use. This was likely because I went way too long without changing the filter. I was happy to buy another one considering how cheap it is!

Easy to use. In this water dish the water actually all goes through the filter, which is something different from our old water dish, where there was space between the bottom of the dish and the filter so water didn't have to go through the filter. and the old dish was about 80dollars, where we paid like 17 for this one, and the filters are cheaper too. Our cats are much happier, and we spend a lot less time cleaning out the water dish! Love.

My four pets love their fountain and you can't use it well without these pads. However, I feel like I'm stuck in the printer ink cycle ... fountain reasonable to purchase but I pay through the nose to keep it going ... So here's what I do. Once a week I soak the fountain and its parts in some bleach. This helps kill any bacteria hiding under the pump motor and lets me sanitize the rest. I throw in the filters, which usually smell like mildew (not a great thought that my pets are drinking from them). After I soak the filters, I put them in the sun for a day or two. I live in Arizona, so sun is never in short supply. I find the sun zaps any nasty organisms and kills any mildew smell. I can get 4-5 cycles from a pack before they look pretty worn (white filter gets nasty yellow color) and I buy a replacement pack. I try to have about 6 filters on hand to cycle through before I buy a new one. May not be as the manufacture intended, but I think they could try a bit harder in making this great item most cost effective for customers. Updated 7/27/13 - The price on these filters has gone up quite a bit since I bought the fountain. At $13.99 you can almost buy a new fountain for the same price - which is ridiculous for foam filters. The Catit filters are identical and as of this date only $7.99. Catit Replacement 3 pack Carbon & Foam Cartridge for Fresh & Clear Water Fountain I just bought these filters and you can't tell the difference.

We have 2 Dogit bowls in our home and we love them. These filters work great. We give them a quick water rinse when before using and then will wash them with soap and water a couple of times before we need to throw them out. I would say we get around 6 weeks of use from each filter. Our dog definitely drinks more now that we have these water filtered bowls!

This carbon/filter does a very nice job of keeping our dog bubbler watering system clean and working nicely. I have used this for several years, and will keep using as long as they are available. I will order again.

This is a fantastic product! I bought it after our pup was constantly upending her water bowl and "digging" in it. I wanted something where her ability to get at the water reserve was restricted. This works brilliantly! She can't dig at the water anymore but also she just loves it as she now has constant access to fresh, flowing water (her constant digging in her normal water bowl meant she'd often get debris in it)! She thinks it's great and only took about 10 mins for her to get used to it. Assembly is easy (mine actually came pre-assembled to a certain degree, didn't have to do the first few steps). The fountain also makes a gentle trickling noise all day long, which is fantastic to listen to in the background! I can't recommend this highly enough!
