What I was looking for
I got them to put in balloons to use as stress balls/fidget toys. So far, they are exactly what I wanted. Just have to perfect the amount I need to put in each balloon with how much water.

Fun effects with the clear beads
I ordered these gel beads with the idea of trying them as a grow medium for some orchids.Looking over the instructions, I was surprised to discover you could also use them to create floating illusions inside glass vases. My vase was tinted blue, so it does not work in its full form for me at the moment, but I could see how it does.Basically, these beads are so clear they disappear in clear water.Using that optical illusion, you place little objects in between the beads, then fill the vase with water. This gives the objects the appearance of being suspended in the water.Very fun and cool for holidays and general decorating. When it comes to actually getting the teeny balls you get to become clear orbs, you only need the purest water you can get and time.It takes 4 to 8 hours for your beads to full hydrate and it is a fun process to watch because they get so big so fast.As water evaporates, you can keep rehydrating the beads as much as you want to, then dispose of them in the trash when they have worn out. However you plan to use them, these clear gel beads are easy and fun to work with.Definitely recommend.

These clear water beads are literally the coolest thing!
I know this is supposed to work, but couldn't believe how large the beads got. As you can see from the pictures, they come in a ziplocked bag inside a box. If you look close, beneath the card are five little beads I wanted to try for this review. I put them in a small bowl of water for a couple of hours and you can see just how large they got. They are super bouncy and practically disappear in water. When items are added to a jar of these, they do look like they are floating.Super easy, super fun and there are so many inluded, you'll be able to do several projects!

Exactly as described!
Orbeez come in different sizes and I wanted a size in the 10 to 15 mm and these are 11mm to 13mm. I would say they are closer to 11mm but the size is perfect for my vase. I put ornaments in the vase and they settle around the vase as the orbeez increase in size and sometimes I need to position the ornaments. These are clear and so far are staying clear. I figured out by googling how much water and how much orbeez I needed to fill my large vase. I actually added to many orbeez and they just floated to the top and sit there. As the water has been evaporating the orbeez are very easy to see. I might have to scoop them off the top and add a bit of water so I can float my candles. I will order these orbeez again.

Easy to use for lots of creative purposes
My wife and I went to a wedding a couple of weeks ago where they used water gel beads and seashells and pearls in a glass cylinder topped with a floating candle. That inspired my wife to want to try these clear gel beads to make a Christmas centerpiece decoration. Having never used them, we were amazed at how easy they are to use. After hydrating them, (overnight), she started to place some Christmas items inside the clear cylinder vase and layered cranberries, mini pinecones, small pine sprig pieces, mini bows and rhinestone strands which she placed within the gel beads as layers and as soon as she added the water, all items appeared to be floating. Success and creativity, at a very reasonable cost.

These are so much fun!
I still need to take a trip to the dollar store for pretties to disperse throughout my vases, but the beads have been hydrated in a stainless bowl. They're so clear it looks like a bowl of water until I put my hand in to stir them. I'm so excited to finish this project, and may share a photo when I'm done. Such a fun way to decorate any time of the year!

Turn totally invisible in water
These expand after a couple hours, and turn totally invisible in the water. It would look cool to float stuff within whatever vessel you put them in, like a bottle or vase.
