Effective and affordable!
This is perfect for cleaning a small pool! I was amazed at how easy and effective it was and so simple to use. Honestly I was skeptical as the device was so reasonably priced at under ยฃ30, but itโs made of good quality materials, and is so simple yet effective. Iโm really impressed with this product and would recommend it for cleaning a small pool or hot tub. Photos show the half I cleaned and the what it looked like before!!

Perfect for picking up the bits your hot tub filter misses
I bought this to clean the little bits of debris that always seem to settle on the seats and in the bottom of the hot tub, and it does exactly what I wanted it to do. It's really easy to use and is surprisingly effective at picking up all those annoying bits of dirt, leaves and debris without having to drain the tub or try and scoop everything out by hand. One thing I really like is that it's long enough to reach both sides of our hot tub without having to keep walking around or moving it, which makes cleaning much quicker. The only downside is that it's a little cumbersome to use compared to some smaller handheld cleaners, but that's really a trade-off for the reach it gives you. It feels well made, doesn't need any batteries or cables, and is always ready to grab for a quick clean before using the hot tub. Tip: Give the seats and footwell a quick vacuum before switching on the jets, otherwise the debris just gets stirred back into the water. Overall, a really handy bit of kit that makes keeping the hot tub clean much easier. It does exactly what I bought it for and I'd definitely recommend it.

Sturdy & works
I was dubious about buying this item given the conflicting reviews, but can honestly say Iโm very happy with it. Well packed ( with instructions in English) and an extremely sturdy bit of kit, itโs plastic obviously, but you would have to be extremely rough to break it. As to using it, itโs a doddle, I only have a four person hot tub, but it cleared the gravel effortlessly. As to the pumping bit, itโs very easy, donโt know why the reviews I read ( who praised it too) thought it was difficult. Only used once, I will return and update if it breaks!

Pleased with my purchase
This is a prime example (no pun intended) of a product that was actually difficult to buy on Amazon due to so many conflicting reviews. Hopefully my review helps a little. This device works to suck up all the little bits in the bottom of a pool or spa that you cannot catch with a net. It's manually operated and requires no electric, batteries or running water/hose. You immerse the bottom section in to the water and like an enormous syringe, pull the handle and suck water up in to the tube then push the handle so the water comes back out. As the water is sucked in, debris/dirt is caught in the filter and due to a one-way valve inside this dirt/debris stays in the filter when the water is pushed back out. It's quite physical, if you have a bad arm or shoulder this will not work for you. It relies on the strength in your arms, the harder you pull the more suction there is. For me this works really well. I have a 10ft circular above-ground pool which had loads of dirt in the bottom, took about half an hour the first time but if done weekly it only takes 10-15 mins. Couple of points based on previous reviews. This is not a cheaply-made device, yes it's plastic but it does not look or work like it will fall apart after a few uses. Sub ยฃ30 is what this should be priced at, I paid just over that but am happy with the results so i'll live with it. If it spits dirt out when you push the water out then its broken or not assembled correctly. You have to use this correctly and have the ability to pull the handle strong enough or it will not work. You dont have to be muscle man (or woman), my 11 year old son can use it just fine. You need to 'prime' it before you start using it. Simply submerge the lower section in the water and pump a few times to get all the air out then crack on. Move it a little bit at a time, if you move too quickly and just brush along the bottom, the brush will just move all the dirt to a higher part of the pool. Lastly - a quick tip for round pool owners, get the kids to make a whirlpool in the water by walking round the edges for a bit then get out. After an hour or so when the water has settled, all the dirt will be in a circle in the middle which makes using this vacuum a lot quicker.

for not a lot of money, does th job ok
Not much else to say really. Its OK, not great, but it didn't cost a lot and it mostly did what I wanted it to. It did not break and there was nothing wrong with it.

A simple but very effective product
The 'vac' was easy to assemble and use. it works well and uses little effort. There have been comments about it's length in other reviews which are true if you review it before using it but when it's used it is perfect as most is under water and you only handle the top end. There were other comments about the filter floating around inside the unit, that is not the case and it just needs pushing into position and twisting to lock it in. Other people suggested it had no suction, it has plenty for leaves, bits of grit and debris, it's not a Vac for a large pool but it is works really well for getting the 'bits' out of the bottom of a Spa and takes minutes to clean the whole thing So ... I read the reviews I tried it, it's great for a hot tub I am very pleased.

Great value underwater vac. May need a simple fix to solve a loose filter.
This is exactly what I hoped it would be. It's a great size for my hot tub, meaning I can stand on one side and reach the opposite side to vac up the bits on the bottom. I find it very effective, and good value for money. I was surprised by just how good it was at cleaning the base of the tub. Useful accessories, particularly the holder. I'm glad I didn't pay loads more for a powered vac as this is ideal. --------------------- Loose Filter Issue --------------------- When I first used it, I was very impressed. After I first cleaned it I was less impressed. The removable filter, which twist locks into place, started floating in the housing, making it ineffective. I called the manufacturer and spoke to a lovely lady called Janet, who rushed out a replacement filter. Unfortunately, that had the same issue. I checked reviews in more detail and found it was an issue others had encountered. It seems that after initial removal the filter doesn't fit back in place as tight as it did originally. Rather than returning an item I'd initially been so impressed by, I devised a solution... Adding some tape around the edges of the filter to make it slightly thicker where it twists into the housing worked a treat. It took a couple of minutes to implement, and the vac was back in action without issue. I used a couple of thin strips of clear Gorilla tape that covered just under half the circumference each, with some small cuts to help it fold rather than bunch. The result was a vac as good as the first time I'd used it. I'll probably need to replace the tape at some point, but that is not an issue; with that little bit of extra maintenance, I can see this lasting a long time. I also had a slight challenge when first setting it up as the inner section didn't want to pull up into the main tube. I just took it out at the bottom, then fed it back into the other end of the tube and that was that. So I'm summary, with the tape fix, this vac is now perfect for my clearing the bits from the bottom of my hot tub. It was going to lose four stars because of the loose filter issue, but with Janet being so considerate, which prompted me to be more positive about the problem which helped in finding such a simple solution, it earned most of them back. Good luck with your vac.

Simple, effective, at bargain price
This was easy to put together and use works perfectly for my hot tub. I've seen bad reveiws so was unsure to buy but glad I did, maybe other reviewers didn't put together correctly or something I don't no. but it has taken every little peice of sand hair fluff from swim clothes, my tub is crystal clear. You insert into pool give a few pumps to fill filter area with water then slowly place beside any deris then pull back the pump to suckle in debris, Slowly move it away to push water out ( as to not disperse the remaining debris )then repeat until tub is fully clean. Once finished pump it above water to drain as much water as possible, it retains water in the filter area so I unscrew it and clean it elsewhere. Don't unscrew above tub as debris will come out. Hope this was helpful Well worth the money for a vac that doesn't require batteries or hose, it's a must have in my opinion to keep your hot clean.
