Paprika comes with bugs
It's seems like all the imported paprika products I have purchased from Amazon (3) come with bugs, and then I have to throw them out. This article opened my eyes to the fact that they probably were in the paprika when I bought them, and not introduced in my kitchenIt's seems like all the imported paprika products I have purchased from Amazon (3) come with bugs, and then I have to throw them out. An article opened my eyes to the fact that they probably were in the paprika when I bought them, and not introduced in my kitchen.Jody M. Green, a board-certified entemologist at the Nebraska Extension in Lancaster County, explained the situation.Green explains that most of the spices consumed in the U.S. have been imported, and “it is not rare for imported product to be contaminated with ‘filth’ (i.e. insects parts), so there is a good chance a product could have been infested after harvest before coming [to the U.S.].”However, she says the more likely source of contamination is during the treatment process. Between the spices’ journey from processing to consumption, insects have a ton of chances to sneak their way into the product.“Adult beetles are active fliers and can get into storage facilities via gaps, open doors, unscreened windows, infested vehicles, bulk bins and containers,” Green said. “With adequate food source and temperature-controlled environment, insects can thrive, breed and feed. In processing facilities, storage and even in the grocery store, infestations can be transferred on equipment and being in close proximity to other infested products.

Real Pimenton Dulce (Spanish Sweet Paprika)
An essential ingredient in my version of Basque sausage, this is the real deal - Pimenton Dulce (sweet Spanish paprika). Exactly as described, and shipped promptly and without fuss. I can't get this or other essential ingredients where I live, so it was either stop making my Basque sausage, or change the formula. I tried changing the recipe, but the result was much less satisfactory - quite one dimensional. So if you do much Spanish or Basque cooking, you'll definitely want this in your spice drawer.

Love the finishing touch of this paprika
I tried this based on the reviews, and am glad I did. Aside from the mild, sweet flavor, the color/texture is outstanding. Not that kind of burnt red that some paprikas have, but a striking, lovely red that looks fantastic on eggs, potatoes, cabbage, celery, white asparagus, cottage or ricotta cheese, anything light and complementary in color. Really makes for an attractive, appealing dish. I don't do much cooking with paprika, but use it mainly as a topping for looks and extra flavor.

Quality spice
I have tested several paprika brands recently, and this is the best for golulash and for paella.

will buy again
Nice mild flavor. Fantastic vibrant color. Slightly smoky but doesn't overpower. Great for deviled eggs and milder soups. Might want something stronger for mexican foods like Diana or Morton & Bassett. The container is unusual and impractical. It is hard to open and you have to either use a spoon or fingers to remove the paprika.

It is what it is
It is what it is--Sweet Paprika. Unlike the stuff you find on the shelves of your local supermarket, this actually has a scent and flavor. If you are at all a fan of being in the kitchen, you need to ad this to your supply. Rich, flavorful, and not just for sprinkling over the top of something bland looking, this is an essential flavor.
