Will the food still last as long if it is opened and re-sealed?** A: Yes, that's the point. I must admit, I like the containers more than the bags. The bags are a little more trouble to reseal, and harder to clean. But they work, and it depends on what I'm storing. the bags are great for fresh herbs like mint or rosemary, and the larger bags are great for cleaned celery, and cut veggies like cauliflower and broccoli bell peppers that are cleaned and ready to steam. But my fav is the containers. We put both glass and plastic into the dishwasher no problem. And the lids too! We keep our deli cheeses, hard cheese and lunch meat in the plastic containers. the glass is god for things like chicken salads and so on. or for leftovers. It's really a pretty nice system, and we've cut way back on our Ziplock use! And if I haven't answered your question yet, we open and re-seal both containers and bags every day! Does it keep longer? We think it does. A tip that might be helpful involves foods that may 'sweat'. We put a folded paper towel in the container with the deli lunch meat. The paper towel collects the moisture and once it's a little soggo, we toss that one and put in a new one. Otherwise condensation collects on the bottom of the lid and in the bottom of the container. . . . . . **Q: Do these containers nest?** A: Be careful nesting the glass containers. We got a few of them stuck and it took some time and ice and all that to separate them. Now we use pieces of cloth between the glass containers.
