These were good socks, but the “full cushioning” was basically in the shin, toe and heel areas. If you’re looking for a thicker Smart Wool sock that’s thicker overall get the “snowboard” version.

A sales person at our ski shop turn us on to this ski sock as an alternative to thicker heavier ski boot socks. These sock are amazing. They keep moisture away and you are able to feel more of the ski boot when skiiing. They also act as great vascular compression socks. Have purchased these socks for everyone in the family, including the kids.

These will be the otc Merino socks that I will buy from now on. The padding make all the difference in the world. They are absolutely worth the $30 price tag.
