Really nice helmet for the price. Includes features normally found on more expensive helmets. I particularly like the test switch and low battery warning light. Only thing I would give a low rating is the packaging. I had to order this twice. The box was completely torn open and taped back together on the first order. The helmet appeared to be OK but the extra lenses were missing and the gloves looked like they had been drug across the floor so I returned it and re-ordered. The second one arrived with the box damaged on two sides and slightly torn open but everything was still in the box and looked OK. The box is very thin cardboard and just not adequate protection for shipping. Tried the helmet and it worked fine. Very happy with this purchase. UPDATE: I finally had time to use the helmet (and gloves) for several hours welding up a project and it works GREAT! I also like the gloves, they are more flexible than my old ones. I have also been contacted multiple times via email by Dave (Tanox) due to the return of the first shipment and re-order who was very concerned about the damaged shipping boxes and said he would contact Amazon about the issue. So not only is the product great, so is CUSTOMER SERVICE ! If I ever need another welding helmet this will be my first choice.

Great product right out of the box. High level of quality, adjustability and functionality foran affordable price. My welds got better because this makes me able to see the weld puddle more clearly. Better than the higher level harbor freight equivalent and for just $10 more; plus, you get these heavy duty gloves! I'm satisfied withmy purchase and would recommend this product to anyone who wants to work on their welds without breaking the bank. From high hobbyist to professional, this mask has you covered!

First let me make it clear that I'm new to welding and not a pro. I like the hood. This was actually a great deal as they include a very nice pair of MIG gloves with the hood. They also included 2 replacement lenses. One for the exterior and the smaller interior one. So, there is a lot of bang for the dollars spent. The hood's auto darkening lens works great and you can switch it to Grind mode which turns off the auto darkening feature while not welding. It also allows you to select several shades of darkening for welding. The control for this is on the exterior of the hood which I also find very practical. Did I mention it has a photovoltaic cell to keep the battery charged? Well it does! So that's a nice feature. Okay, so why only 4 stars? I really only have two complaints. First I find the tension knobs that hold the shield up to be less than adequate. They do not work well to hold the hood up with enough pressure to keep it up until I do a medium hard nod to lower it. It's kinda gotta be up hard or it slowly lowers, the latter is very annoying. Second the head basket (if you will) does not adjust in to the hood far enough. My face feels to far from the inside of the lens. I find that I prefer my eyes to be closer to the lens. The way it is designed, if the hood is lowered completely it tends to make me look down to see out of it or tilt my head back slightly which is annoying to me. That part is fixable by tightening the tension knobs. These two things are not huge deals but they are annoying. I should mention that the head strap, or basket if you will, has several adjustments including a ratcheting back knob that makes it feel very secure on my noggin and feels pretty comfortable and balanced. I hope this helps you to make a choice. If you are a beginner like me I do not think you'll go wrong with this hood.

Everything works well as far as the lens and splatter protection gloves are tight but I can see them breaking in after solid week of use. I just about threw this thing away today due to the helmet not staying up I tightened it and it worked great for the first 20 hours of welding then it started falling in my face when I was measuring and re adjusting work stations, went to tighten it again and both plastic nuts and threads stripped out and no longer hold tension on either side. I have Been working the last 40 hours with a helmet that keeps falling in my face, I will likely get a bolt and wing nut to fix this helmet, and keep it as a spare. If there was a way to add better tension nuts for the helmet it would probably compete with some of the higher brands.

Got this for a garage work around the house mig setup and its perfect. I like the ability to clearly see my work then it quickly darkens without you noticing. Set up out of the box was quick, the directions were clear. We are doing everything from teaching my son to weld on scraps to lite fab and exhaust work. This is a great mask and it comes with gloves that dont make you clumsey. Bang for the buck its hard to beat.

Product was delivered ON TIME in GREAT working condition. Box was undamaged and just like I bought it from the store. Came with some SUPER FRESH gloves! I know what I ordered but I feel like I won on this bargain. The helmet worked to spec and was an excellent buy for the money. Highly sensitive lcd with multiple variable settings that work. Came with extra lense covers, inner and outer. The only complaint (which is absolutely tiny) is that the directions read like the written by an old Eastern European man who picked up English as a second (or 5th) language.

THIS IS THE BEST WELDING HELMET I HAVE EVER HAD!!! HAD TWO PROBLEMS: 1. I KEEP WANTING TO FLIP UP THE LENS AND TURNING ON THE DAIL TO DARKEN THE LENS SHADE... HEH-HEH 2. THERE IS NO INSTRUCTIONS IN THE INSTRUCTIONS TELLING ANYONE HOW TO REMOVE THE LENS. I FOUND IF YOU PINCH THE TWO NOBS (AT THE BOTTOM OF THE LENS INSIDE THE HELMET) TOGETHER THEN THE LENS CAN BE REMOVED. OTHER THAN THAT IT'S ALL GOOD !!!! GREAT WORK AND THE PRICE IS OUTSTANDING... J. Very good helmet with great features for the price. Similar helmets are around $120 and without gloves. I haven't had a chance to use the gloves yet but they do seem to be decent quality. I highly recommend this purchase.
