This hose was easy to put together using normal 1/2" barbed fittings that just slip in. I expect this to last longer than soaker hose, though time will tell. I had about 5 of the emitters in the 100' hose that effectively failed immediately, jetting out an uncontrolled stream of water rather than the controlled 0.6gpm drip. At first I removed the failed ones completely, cutting the line and re-splicing with an incline coupler. On subsequent failures I just used electrical tape to cover up the problem hole and leave the second hole open. Time will also tell whether this is an ok long term solution.
