I've found this electric blanket has been great for colder nights (especially with this jarring up-and-down summer we've been having!). It heats up quickly and has three settings. It's made of a soft fabric and I've found it most comfortable with a second thin blanket on top, as I personally dislike the feeling of the wiring (though my girlfriend doesn't mind it so much). The overheat protection is reassuring, and I've found it easy to clean as it has a detachable power cord, which was a nice surprise as it can be a point of concern.Overall, it keeps me warm and cozy, but the lack of an autimatic shut-off timer is quite a bit of a let down considering the price, so I've deducted a star.

Heating my bedIt is excellent

Warm and toasty bed since this purchase. I turn the blanket off once the bed has warmed up but you can leave it on the lowest setting if you want.

The double sized electric blanket with 3 heat settings arrived attractively packaged. The box included an instruction manual with full and clear details of usage and washing instructionsThe blanket is made of polyester which is comfortable to the feel but not particularly soft. The heating elements can be felt through the material, though not to a worrying extent. I compared this with ‘known make’ electric blanket that we already have and found this to be the same. With this one, we have mattress cover over the blanket and under the bedsheet which is sufficient to disguise the slightly raised elements.The electrical cable attaches to the underside of a top corner of the blanket and is detachable as the blanket is said to be suitable for machine washing. The cable length from the controller to the three pin plug is 160 cm. The cable length from the bed to the controller is 60 cm.At the current price of £39.99 this electric blanket is priced within the wide range of prices for electric blankets on the Amazon site. It should be said that there are quite a variety of styles available, some costing considerably more, however this one is quite basic. Comparing it to the blanket that I mentioned above which is quite similar (also made of polyester, also machine washable and also with three heat settings) that blanket is currently available on the Amazon site for a cheaper price despite being by a ‘known make’.In summary then, this electric double bed sized mattress, is fine but not special. At the current price I think it is worthy of three stars, however I would be happy to make this 4 stars if the price were to be reduced a little.

Sleeping much better ,lovely to get into a warm bed .

Mrs Pugh loves her electric underblanket of a decade old so trying this new one was a no-brainer. First of all, this has a nice fleece feel to it that means that the heating wires underneath are not too pronounced. Obviously, after years of use, this probably isn't the case, but there is enough padding to make it comfortable for a while. The controller attached is quite clunky looking but it does the job and has three settings - the heating element worked quite quickly too so this has enough power to mean it doesn't need pre-heating for too long. The over-heating cut-off is a great idea as it's easy to fall asleep with it on, though for the price point I would have thought a basic timer would have been possible. Still, a very good product.

I was a little worried about how to review this as I got it coming up to summer when it wouldn't be needed, but the British weather came to my aid and we had a rather cold spell.I put this on my bed, under the base sheet, it fits perfectly on my double bed. I turned it on 10 minutes before going to bed. The whole bed was lovely and warm with no cold spots.It has a slider style control that clicks into one of 3 settings, cool, warm and hot. I left mine on level 2. It does come with overheat protection, but I prefer to turn it off overnight, just in case. It is also machine washable, which I haven;'t tried yet as the weather has warmed up. I'm looking forward to putting this back on my bed in the winter.
