Excellent edition!

The best translation (but only slighlty) was that by Mitchell, though sadly, it is out of print. I ordered this book for a friend, after I found the Kindle version to be quite satisfactory.Smart guy, Marcus Aurelius. But, you know, some of that stuff is easy to say if you happen to be the Emperor, and have the Roman Empire at your disposal.The only reason for giving 4, rather than 5 stars is that, not mentioned in the description, this is a LARGE PRINT edition. So, if you have an older friend, or perhaps you were personally acquainted with Marcus, AND you have misplaced your reading glasses, this book might come in handy.

The book looks and feels like if it was written in a word processor on a PC and then printed out on a home printer, and binded together. I paid premium for a hardcover version, and well, the cover is hard.It is also of poor quality, the cover art is blurry as from an effect of upscaling a raster graphic to a higher resolution.This is my feedback right out of the box. Hopefully the content is complete. But I can't help but wonder if this is even a legit copy, or a pirated home-brew printout sold through Amazon Prime channel.

While the text itself is ages old and as true today as it has ever been, I expected a better binding for a “Royal Collectors Edition.”

More than common sense; the book represents how one would be better looking inward instead of blaming outward to survive in this world.

The kindle edition is of poor quality. The spacings and paragraphs are wrong at multiple locations, which makes it very hard to read.

Check the dimensions of the version you are buying. I got the paperback at: 21.59 x 1.04 x 27.94 cm. It's huge compared to a regular paperback novel. The text inside is large and sharp, but note the cover art is poor quality and blurry like when you enlarge a jpeg too much on the computer. It's unusual but fine to read

The private and usually wise thoughts of one of the 'Good Emperors' of Rome. A very accessible classic, as it is written in short 'note to self' form. Also this is my favourite translation

The book looks more like a school book, probably some over-produced misprint of the cover and first few pages but overall the book is great for the price and when you are used to very small font and many pages this book is a great break from all that. The large font and few pages really makes it an easy and great read
