Great light for the money
Very bright light, easily controllable . Reasonably well built, very happy all round. Just note that if you buy a small rig V-lock plate (I couldnโt find a Neewer one for sale) and cable to power it via batteries, it is the wrong polarity and youโll need to rewire the XLR end the opposite way round. Or get a D-Tap to XLR cable made up. Once I worked that out I was happy that it could be used via batteries or mains power, most useful. Youโll need a decent lighting stand too as once rigged , especially with a soft box, it can be front heavy.

Best light around ยฃ200, silent and easy to control.
some lights claim low noise but this is actually silent and can't be heard in a quiet room

great light, love the app control and padded carry bag
This light has been perfect for doing a load of interviews recently with loads of adjustment control and its well-built design makes it a great addition to my studio. The light comes in a very nice, padded bag with two strong carry handles, and I love that inside everything for it has a perfectly cut out space and padded foam to ensure its well protected for transporting around or putting on a shelf. The main light unit has a great build quality and I like the fact you get a light lend protective plastic cover which just like the light reflector clips into place to canโt be knocked out etc. The reflector has a scale style pattern and gives a really great distribution of light no matter what light mode you have it set too. You can adjust the light all the way from 2700k to 6500k which is basically a really warm cosy yellow ish white to a cool bright white and all the options in-between. This can be controller from the knobs on the back of the light and the display also shows you what modes and brightness etc you are set too or via the app. I love having the app for easy control when the light is in position and i don't want to risk knocking it to get round the back and I was very impressed with the huge, long power cable it comes with which was essential as the power brick part is quite chunky so I was glad this could just about reach to the floor for support. The bottom has a good mounting system where you can put a lighting pole in the mount and screw the bolt tight to secure it in there, then you have a quick release lever to adjust the tilt and angle for getting the perfect light conditions. Overall, for ยฃ228.99 itโs not cheap but everything about the build has shown the good quality. The features like app connectivity and good carry bag set it above the rest so its good value for money, but if it comes on a deal below ยฃ200 it would be a great light for a great price.

Brilliant video light. Neewer come through once again!
This is a great light; it comes in a box that contains a nice transport case for carrying around the light. Once opened the case contains profile foam which is well formed to protect and house the light and all the bits. Unpacking the light is just a case of lifting the light out, it can come out with the reflector which is packed back onto the light or you can take the light out by itself. The reflector just clips onto the Bowens style mount, connect up the power using the nice chunky PSU that connects to the light with a locking XLR for security and you are good to go. The mount simply turns and locks into position, no need to screw it on so this is quick, this fits into the hand nicely for hand held use or you can use the handle on the back, or for stand mount I would recommend a fairly sturdy stand or it could topple if it was very high. There are a couple of models of this, the one I have FS150B did not come with the battery attachment -the MS150B does (none come with batteries) and despite a search cannot yet find a part number to buy this separately should I need it. So, if you need portable version, I would suggest you buy the MS150 not this one. I will contact Neewer in time to see if the battery box is indeed available for this model. In use the light works really well, is easy to use and very versatile. From the back of the light, you can control both the colour temperature (only white, this is not an RGB light) over a wide range, and also the brightness which is shown in the display. In use the unit did not get too hot, although I did not use it on full power much as I was after some different effects. You can also use an App to control this and multiple lights, so you can stand at the camera and alter the settings so you see what is through the lens rather than having to go to each light and change things. Very useful. As usual Neewer have come up with a fantastic product at a very good price, you will not be disappointed with this.

Compact, lightweight, easy to live with variable temperature white video light
The Neewer 150B is an LED COB photo and video light with a variable temperature. It is a compact light stand mountable light with variable white temperature from an orangey warm 2700K through to a cold 6500K. The light is lightweight at 1.7Kg light comes in a soft wall padded bag; and includes a small, scaled spotlight hood that attaches to the lights Bowens mount. The bag is square and compact. It easily carries the light, the hood, and the power adaptor. The power brick is chunky and includes about 3m of cable. The light attaches to power via a XLR style connector; with a good spring retainer to stop it coming out on the supplied cable. There is a positive on / off switch to power the unit on. When powered on there is an easy-to-read LED screen that confirms the power, temperature settings (and if you are using them the effects settings.). The two knobs let you adjust the settings by switching through a simple menu. You can also pair the light to your phone and control the light (or multiple lights.) The app Neewer app is excellent; it doesnโt require you to login and if you have multiple lights, you can save settings and sync between lights. (You can also use the camera on your phone to pick the setting to synchronise if 3000K isnโt the same on two lights.) With the 220B light it makes it very easy to set the colour temperature adjust the brightness or pick from the flickering effects. If you adjust the settings on the light; you can save the settings by pressing the buttons and when you power on it comes back with the same temperature; which is great if you have a longer shoot. The light has a hotspot with the included hood; there is a clear centre of brightness about 30cm around when beamed from 1m away; the hotspot intensity it falls off from there to the end of the lighting circle. Using a soft box attached to the Bowens mount gets rid of this if you can use diffuse lighting. When you run it in constant light mode it does have a very stable light output in terms of intensity and temperature. Shooting 120fps 1080p with my Eos R5 the light doesn't exhibit flickering from a low to high intensity output. Putting the camera into photo mode it doesnโt trigger the Flicker safe mode. The body is all metal. There is a slow speed fan inside that keeps it cool; but doesnโt deafen you. This fan is essentially silent; even when the air coming out was 55c the fan wasnโt audible. My DB meter read under 30dB from the light at that time so it shouldn't pick anything up on set. Running the light for long periods I didnโt notice any change in the set colour temperature. If you are building a set or want a transportable light to carry between shoots this is a great value low power light. Itโs easy to live with too; its light and compact so easy to move around. If you are building a set the app makes it easy to adjust and synchronise settings without running around changing them.

Overall the light does what it sez it does - and some more
Once again NEEWER has brought out an amazing - and powerful -LED powered light unit in the FS150B Video Light. It comes in a stout cardboard box with actual light and fittings in a holdall type zip up bag, which is all contained in a pre-formed foam material so avoids any vibrations or knocks in transit. The light or the front LED light panel is protected by a 'dummy' Bowens light fitting cap - see photos. As well as the light unit, with a included Bowens fitting reflector bowl, with a slot to accommodate an umbrella etc, plus it also accepts other Bowens standard fitting attachments. Build quality is the usual Neewer high standard. It boasts a 2.4G/APP Control with an 130W Bi Colour COB light output, 72000lux/1m - 2700K-6500K, CRI 97+ coming from LEDs that are cooled internally by a silent running fan - handy for video work. It has four types of precise dimming, twelve effects/modes to choose from making it quite versatile for either video or photography in general: the controls are simple to understand with the well written manual and APP guide being basic and to the point. So far with experimenting, this is proving to be a very versatile light unit - the light output is very good, size for size, plus the assorted effects are another option to be explored. Overall the light does what it sez it does - and some more - and is only limited by the operator or photographerโs creativity. Footnote: While this is initially mains operated in this instance, I noted online in assorted videos that in one its powered by a battery pack. On contacting Neewer Customer Service by email, the very swift and helpful response being yes, it is possible to make it portable but the actual battery pack is out of stock presently with new supplies expected soon.

Great Light for Video and Photography
The NEEWER FS150B is a solid choice for anyone looking for reliable, lightweight lighting. Itโs super quiet and much less bulky compared to other brands, which is a big plus. The phone app makes controlling the brightness and color temperature (like adjusting from 5000K to 6500K) super convenient, especially if the light is mounted high. The Bowens mount is easy to use with a simple button to attach or remove modifiers like softboxesโit clicks securely into place. The power connection is reassuring too, with a sound to confirm itโs properly plugged in. Itโs great for videography and not bad for photography either. I tested it with my Samsung 24 Ultra, and the photos came out crisp, though I still prefer a flash for photography. The included fabric carry case is lightweight and handy, but itโs not durable enough for heavy travelโit wonโt hold up if you stack anything on top of it. Overall, itโs a great light with some minor flaws, but well worth it for the price!

Small body yet powerful light and very easy to carry or store. Doesnโt need that much space really helpful to use for photoshoots in small spaces. The app also helps to make it more convenient in adjusting the light
