Excellent product !
I dont know why the other reviewer didn't like this netbook. I have two of these and both are running great ! The body is very well made ! Its small, yet very strong and easy to handle about ! Its cool at all times so you can safely use it from your lap with no warm feeling coming onto you. The keyboard is very good as well, which is easy to adapt to. Mouse buttons are a bit hard to press for the first month of owning the netbook, but then they soften a little and its becomes okay. Regarding the running performance of the netbook (which the other reviewer is overly concerned about), yes, out of the box, it runs pretty slow, but this is because of tons of the ASUS bloatware installed onto the machine. Simply uninstall all that nonsense (use a batch uninstaller tool like Absolute Uninstaller to quicken the process), and disable the unnecessary windows services, and you have a *very* smooth running netbook that responds *very* well !! I reduced the total running process from about 65 to 35, which resulted in a huge saving ! So overally I'm very happy with both my netbooks ! Pros: --> Very well designed body, which shows it was designed with portability in mind ! --> And yet, the body feels very solid too ! --> Very light to carry! Almost feels like nothing! --? Runs very very cool. --> Awesome keyboard very nice keys and a key layout which is quick to adapt to ! --> Runs *very* smoothly once all the bloatware is uninstalled and extra Windows services are disabled. --> Long battery life. Cons: --> The mouse keys are somewhat hard in the start, but soften up a little with time. --> Filled to the top with unnecessary bloatware which can really slow down the netbook (uninstall these to make the netbook superfast!)

Not worth the price
Very disappointed. Had tons of useless software that was a pain to remove. The camera was a huge disappointment. Ordered a Toshiba with a similar config a few weeks later and frankly wish I had ordered the Toshiba in the first place.

Very slow !
I am not sure what intel has gained with its atom useless processor. How are netbooks with atom being sold for even 200+$ !!! The point is 1GB ram with windows operating system is a dream ! I wasnt able to use a browser with a single tab open without having to go through freeze. The look of the netbook is good, but frankly the screen is too small. It is supposed to be 10 inches, but gives a feel that it is much smaller. The shell is strong and good. But overall windows 7 on 1GB ram with an intel atom is a killer. I am returning , i have used it for 1 hour and i got a headache after that.

Wrong memory upgrade advertised
1 GB of memory is minimal at best on a notebook like this, especially with Windows 7. You will definitely want to upgrade to 2 GB, but the memory module advertised as "often bought together" with the 1001PX, the Crucial CT25664BC1067 2GB 204-PIN PC3-8500 SODIMM DDR3 Memory Module, will not fit in this model. The 1001PX requires a 2GB 200-pin SODIMM DDR2 PC2-6400 Memory Module like the Crucial Technology CT25664AC800 which you can also buy from Amazon if you want.

Surprisingly Awesome
This ASUS is a great product. It boots quickly, performs very well, and feels solid. The screen is top notch, although the only ding is that the screen resolution would be nice if it could be a notch higher, and Windows 7 starter is not even close to Windows 7. The only other ding would be that it is a little slow to recognize USB devices when first connected. Keyboard is small as all netbooks, but you can adjust to it rather quickly. Price is excellent. If you need a netbook, this is a great one to buy.
