Very good accompaniment to the V5 mandolin, in that in can collect a large volume of chopped vegetables as they come through the mandolin blades. However if I am vegetable strumming at top speed, sometimes the momentum of the cut pieces can cause them to fly out the back! If the base of the bowl was set so the mandolin attached to it was strummed "uphill" then gravity might catch the pieces and keep them from flying out the back. Or perhaps have the bowl a little longer, or with less of a space for vegetable to fly out the back through.Also I would say, if anyone else is considering this (and I do recommend it for use as a companion product for the Borner V5).. think about the colour of the vegetables you are likely to be cutting.. I make a lot of julienne carrots and I can't see them when the bowl is effectively the same orange colour! I don't like white (can't see onions!) or red (can't see tomatoes!). Maybe I should have chosen the green since I can't think of any vegetables that are that same green colour! A darkish blue would probably be what I wish were available...

A handy bit of kit that fits good so saves everything sliding about.

Very nice shaped bowl. The Borner V slicer fits on to the bowl and collects food conveniently. I have ordered the red one as well.
