I was surprised when I received this how much bigger it is then what it looks like in the pictures. I tried it out and it works perfectly. the only issue is that it can be a bit of a hinderance if you need to see around it.

I saw this magnetic seam guide with the attachment that hold the fabric in place and thought it would be great if it worked. Only used it once but it worked great. Would recommend.

This magnet is super strong so it's not easily nudged out of place while sewing.

I liked this item. It has a powerful magnet. It was like having a third hand that could hold the binding down as I ensured that the fabric stayed up against the seam guide and that the top piece on the binding kept the binding nice and flat and in place. The only problem I had was when a stray piece of thread would get caught on it, the side would move. This was used on a domestic sewing machine that does not have a solid metal plate on the arm, which probably aided the seam guide from staying in one place throughout the entire quilt. What made it easier for me to get the correct place to put the seam guide each time was to mark the bobbin plate with a black, extra-thin marker, so if it moved out of place, I knew just where to move it back to.

I sew a lot, and have recently taken up quilting as well, so when I saw this seam guide I picked it up. As soon as I got this guide set up on my machine, it was ready to go! I have tried it out by sewing a couple of blocks with it, and it really does help me! I am not the best at straight lines whether I’m writing, or sewing, or anything else that might need a steady hand. But using this seam guide I am able to keep a uniform quarter inch seam allowance when I sew. It looks a little clunky and awkward, but it really is a handy tool to have! Basically, the seam guide has a magnet on the bottom of it, so you just attach it to the feed dog plate on the bottom of your sewing machine. This has really upped my game for making sure I have all the points of my blocks looking nice and neat, and meeting exactly where they are supposed to.

I was hesitant about getting this hem guide because I wasn't sure if it would work with my Brother LX2500. My sewing machine exterior is mostly plastic so I was pleasantly surprised that the magnet stuck right onto the plate. The magnet is really strong and must have grabbed onto the metal under the plastic which is amazing. It works well and stays in place while sewing so I am happy that I can now sew accurate even stitches.

Simple setup. Strong magnet. Easy to adjust and start sewing. Great price point for what you get. Definitely sturdy construction that should last many years.
