Worth the price!
I was hesitant about buying this just because of the price, but I decided to go for it last month. It is so worth it! I have suspected Endometriosis and my periods are so painful to the point of feeling like I will pass out, brain fog, nausea, etc. The Livia has changed everything and my cramps are SO much more manageable. It's easy to wear, discreet, and I'm able to function during my period. The cramps don't always completely disappear, but they are much less intense to where I don't even need to take pain medicine most of the time. If you struggle with painful periods, GET IT!

Horrible side affects!!
I know most the time when I read reviews, if there is a few bad ones and mostly good, I just tend to overlook the bad ones and order the product anyways. PEOPLE!!!! I am warning you, Please listen to this!!!!! This device causes bad side affects!!! Maybe it doesn't for everyone but from what it did to me I have full belief it is harmful for your body!!! One of the gel pad parts burned me so bad that it bled for days on one side of my lower stomach. It also causes terrible itching while wearing it and even for days after I had it off. Like EXTREME itching. To the point I wanted to take a wire brush to my stomach. It also kept shocking me so bad while wearing it and giving me extreme contractions!! My stomach as well swole up and was puffy for weeks (other then bloat from Period). After not using the device for 3 weeks, I am still getting random shock spots in my body. Esp my chest. It's this sudden shock like someone zapped me with a zapper and then it tingles for a few min afterwards. I am also still itching on my stomach where the wires were placed and all around the general area. I wore the Livia device for 2 periods and both times had these horrible side affects but I thought I would get used to it. Well after this last one I have decided I am throwing it in the trash!! It isn't worth it!! I will deal with the pain of my period and Endo. And, they won't let me return it on top that. I've learned my lesson and I hope I can save a few women from the absolute horrors of this untrustworthy disloyal device. The person that created it obviously had no care for what destruction it can cause a women's body, on top of going through the scrutinizing pain of the period!!!

A definite help, though not a cure
QUICK SUMMARY: Livia absolutely helped lessen my period cramp pain!!! Thank you, Livia!!!!! Livia did not completely get rid of my cramps. (That blessed miracle, always just out of reach...) The battery life is my only negative. DETAILED USE: First of all, I waited until I had used my Livia device for two periods before posting this, so that I could give the most accurate information possible. I get cramps for the first 2 days of my period, every month. I don't have PCOS or anything like that, just your standard (gross, stomach-churning, twisting, painful, brutal) cramps, for 48 straight hours. For years, I have taken Midol and tried to use a heating pad constantly to alleviate the pain. The issue is that Midol makes me feel woozy, disoriented, and completely OUT OF IT, while also keeping me up at night. It's honestly almost as bad as the cramps. I tried taking caffeine-free medicine (Pamprin), and it barely touched the pain of the cramps. (I also have an allergy to NSAIDS, so no Advil or Excedrin for me.) My cramps were painful enough that they 100% affected the way I live during those two days. So when I read about Livia, and saw it was available on Prime, I bought it almost immediately. The cost was a little scary for something that might not work at all, but I have 4 sisters and thought if it didn't work for me, maybe it would work for one of them. At least someone would profit from my $150 haha. The package arrived promptly and the instructions were simple. I charged the device, which took about 5 hours from dead to fully charged, and the next day the pain arrived. Attaching the gel pads to the electrodes was very easy, as was placing the electrodes on my lower back. I clipped the device to a belt loop on my jeans, and it was completely covered by my sweater. I asked one of my coworkers and she couldn't see it at all. I hit the power button and clicked it about 10 times before I felt it buzzing fairly strong. After using Livia for two periods, I would say that you should definitely have the pulse up a little higher than a "light tickle", as the pamphlet says. I found that if I had the pulse up to a fairly strong buzz, it really did only take about 2 or 3 minutes before the cramping pain started to fade. I 100% experienced a lessening of my cramp pain. And I also found it to be true that I would only need to use the electrodes for about an hour... then I could turn them off and the cramps would NOT return for a solid 2 or 3 hours. They did return eventually though, which leads me to my reason for only giving 4 stars instead of 5. Livia's battery does not last through the night. It also definitely (in my experience) takes longer than "1 hour, 15 minutes" to recharge (which is what the product description says). I found that it took about 4 hours to charge from almost dead to full. Nor does it last "15 hours" on a charge, unless they mean it lasting 15 hours without being used often... which would be a strange way of phrasing it. I found the battery only lasted about 3 or 4 hours on continuous use. This doesn't affect me so much during the day, when I can turn it off after an hour, and then wait for the cramps to come back, and then turn it back on. However, nighttime was a bit of an issue, especially if it's not fully charged when you put it on before bed. I would fall asleep with it on (a great feeling by itself, because normally I can barely sleep at all when I have cramps), and then wake up a few hours later when the buzzing stopped, AKA it died. I plugged it in to charge, the cramps would come back then in about 2 hours, and then I'd be awake with cramps and a mostly-dead Livia. I solved this by using a heating pad, which always helps my cramps, but I wish the battery life was longer. I guess the solution is to make sure it's fully charged before you go to bed, but sometimes life gets in the way and it's hard to do that. Or I could set an alarm for about an hour after I go to bed, wake up and turn the device off, and then turn it back on again when my cramps came back and woke me up? (UGH the struggle is real.) One more note: I used Livia 99% on my lower back, and only a few times on my stomach. But in both cases, I found that positioning the gel pads DIRECTLY over the strongest pain spot, was very important. I fiddled around with the placement on my back a few times, and moving it even just half an inch lower or to the side made a difference to the pain relief. Be patient, and don't get frustrated if it doesn't seem to work the first time. Play around with the placement, and the strength of the electronic pulse, and you should be able to find the best use for your pain relief. To finally conclude: I would definitely recommend Livia to any woman with period pain. The device gave me a lot of relief, not just from the pain, but also from the hassle of Midol's side effects. I love how compact and cute Livia is (I got the lavender color!), and how easy it is to use and charge. I also was able to use the same gel pads for two periods, so that's a plus. The battery life is a little disappointing but more than worth dealing with, for the relief I get. My sisters will have to buy their own Livia devices, because I'm keeping this one! UPDATE (8/29/18): To make this review even longer, I want to add an additional note. After 4 months, the cord that attaches to the flower pad electrodes on my device started shorting out. The current would disconnect if I bumped the cord, and I'd have to jiggle it around to get the current to start flowing again (kind of like an old cell phone charging cord might do). I emailed the company, and had a response within 24 hours. They shipped me a replacement cord free of charge, and it works great. So I just wanted to add that even though it was disappointing that I had issues with my cord after only a few months, the customer service was excellent as far as replacing it goes.

Should be called little miracle machine!!
1st of all, I want to say thank you, thank you for making this product! I am very hesitant about spending this much money on something that wouldnt help with relief. My daughter has cramps monthly from her cycle. She is so sick the first few days prior and the following 2 days after she starts her menstrual cycle. We have tried everything natural that you can think of and ended up resorting to meds to help with pain. Finally she maxed out on pain meds and still was in pain! I researched the Livia Device and thought I will try anything to help relive my daughter's pain. She got this just in time! It has to charge before use, so she opened it and charged it just in time for the cramps to begin! We finally found help!!! She took, "1 TYLENOL" through the whole start to finish of cramps!! That is HUGE and she used the Livia Menstrual Pain Relief Device and it worked!!! She kept thanking me for the help! If you are second guessing the purchase of this little miracle device, just buy it! It is small enough to wear without being noticed. We also purchased extra sticky pads.

Cords are NOT IT
The stars aren’t working but I give it 3. I want to rate this higher, because it does work. I had not had to take ANY OTC pain pills will using them. Sadly tho, after buying 3 of these, I realized the cords are a major flaw. The cords only work positionally and then they do not and now the $600 investment is trying to get even more expensive. I can’t at this point invest more. Bummed out because I do not like taking pills but at some point it becomes a bit ludicrous to keep investing in items continually. I’m sad. Please do better with the cords the flex points are not cutting it. Also, the metal where you plug them in, not the prongs, but the casing inside where the prongs make contact, those break off and slide out over time making the cord to need replaced also. Would take a pic but have thrown that set away already, now the new (3mos old) cord has failed to conduct the electricity. My hopes are dashed.

Life saver!
This product has been a miracle worker for my daughter. Keeping her in school when she has cramps has been difficult and she suffers greatly. This has made going to school so mix better! I ordered off Amazon so I could get next day delivery. If you don’t feel it’s vital to have immediately, then order from the company to save money!

Great product, little spendy though
I've been using my Livia for the first time today. Overall I am happy with the purchase. The down side: ~For a TENS unit this is pretty pricey. Less expensive ones are available, though many of them looked more bulky and less convenient if you're on the go. ~The electrodes don't seem to fit in the carrying case, I have tried putting them in there a bunch of ways and they just won't fit. That's super dumb. The case should fit the electrodes, charging cord, and unit. I also think the case would be better if you could close the lid while charging. ~Despite the advertising that the gel pads should last through at least one period, I've taken them off then reapplied once and they are already losing their stickiness and don't stay on my skin very well. I'll be surprised if they last one more use. ~There is glue all over my skin now. Also it works better than a wax to remove any hair you might have. If like me you have a pelt, shaving is a good idea. The up side: ~It works great. Removed the pads once to position them better. ~My cramps are more in my back and it worked great when stuck to my back. Stuck the unit in my back pocket and pulled my shirt down. ~After an initial increase in muscle tension, I think because I had it turned up too high, it actually allowed my muscles to relax a bit. Keep it at a nice low tickle. I am happy with this and intend to keep it, it really worked well and I would definitely suggest you give it a try (and it's returnable if it doesn't work for you).
