This sensor got our Roomba 960 working again
The family's Roomba ran into the edge of our couch in such a way that it dislodged its sensor, snapping the delicate wires connected to it somewhere within the mechanism itself. I purchased this replacement sensor in the hopes that I could easily replace the broken one and get Roomba going again. It took some time to take things apart to the point where I could get to where the wire harness plugs into the board. Once I did that, it was easy to replace the piece. I put everything back together again, and our Roomba now works perfectly. It returns to the dock on its own, which it couldn't do when this part was broken.

It works perfectly, but can be tricky to install due to the complexity
I purchased this due to the suspicion that the IR sensor on my roomba was bad due to it being unable to dock. When I took apart the roomba I found that the wire for the sensor was cut. It took around 25-30 minutes to disassemble(with the assistance of a YouTube video for my model). I put it all back together with the new sensor and it is now working perfectly. This was a perfect replacement for my roomba 770 model. It's still going to be cheaper than sending the unit in for an actual repair. Just one major point, you do need to practically take your whole roomba apart. If you are not comfortable with doing this, I wouldn't suggest it. Other than that, I truly recommend this part. I also wrapped electrical tape around the replacement wiring for the IR sensor to give it some abrasion protection.

Worth it
Took some time to figure out how to open the robot. But definitely worth fixing rather than replacing it. Worked perfect and delivered quick.

I wish there's an easy way to install it!!!
the item came just like that in the picture, no instructions or anything... I had to search on YouTube on how to install this thing. It took me a few days to install it because it require a specific size of screw driver and my luck I dont have the right size so it's either I buy the right screw driver or borrow from people at work. So when I finally got the right screw driver I had to literally disassemble the entire robot and remove almost all the parts except the circuit board inside just to unplug and plug one small sensor. Then put back everything, hope and pray that it will work. After putting everything back I found 2 tiny screws laying around so I had to disassemble it again to find where those screw belongs and put it back together... But gladly the sensor works. My roomba can finally find it's way back home and charge itself!!!

Compatible with 620
It's what you would expect, a replacement sensor that fits my 620 and it works even better now.

Saved me $100
So I purchased my Roomba in Dec of 2018 and it stopped finding its homebase and virtual barrier after about a year. iRobot wouldnt do anything without charging me $110 off the bat to even look at it. did some digging into the potential and found this. Worked like a charm! Install isnt super difficult if you are somewhat handy. My Roomba now works like new and avoided paying the extra money. Would highly recommend if you have had this issue.

Missing bracket, if you buy this make sure you have all parts necessary.
I have a 770, this appears to fit properly. The seller shows a correct picture of the contents of the package…this is good. The issue is that there is a bracket at the bottom of the sensor where the 2 screws attach, and that bracket is missing. Someone who doesn’t know this, will disassemble the roomba and then find that they don’t have all the parts necessary. The seller is an expert, and a better approach is to mention that 2 replacement screws are included along with the cover and sensor wire…however the baseplate that the screws attach to IS NOT INCLUDED….which means you cannot reassemble and have it functional, with our the missing bracket. It appears the seller provides the bracket with other sensor sets…. Ultimately, the bracket is necessary, I’ll leave an update when I sort out what to do….

Doesn't quite fit
Even though this indicates compatible with series 900, it doesn't quite fit. Had to use a Dremel and make it fit and even so, it is barely hanging in there, may have to take the bumper off again and glue it in place. It did however fix the issue with finding the dock. When it breaks again I'll retire this vacuum as it is 5 yrs plus in age. Time for a new vacuum anyway.
