1/18th? Yes! but takes a little work...
Well...here goes! So I bought a different version of this a while back for a Team Associated RC18 T2. Which is a 1/18th scale 4 wheel drive stadium truck. Well to shorten up a long story. I returned it because after reading through the spec sheet I realized that it had been advertised wrong and was NOT 3s compatible. So I just reinstalled the mod brushed motor and lived with that since I only run it when I'm waiting on parts for my nitro trucks.Well. I bought it again and this time got the kit with the correct kV motor to run 3s batteries. (3930kV) So that's good however...With that said they really do mean Universal. It's States in the ad and in the instruction sheet that it is a "universal" fit for any 1/18th or 1/16th scale R/C car/truck. Unfortunately "Universal" means that there are a lot of differences on this motor than there are on motors from other brands that make motors specifically for their vehicles. Or better aftermarket solutions like Castle Creations. Meaning the motor diameter is a little large for 1/18 scale vehicle like I'm using. But it does fit it just takes a little bit of work. While I did not have to file down any of the chassis I did have to open up the motor mount cam and I did have to also buy a pinion gear with a larger hole. The stock size hole is 2 mm and the shaft on this motor is 3 mm. And while the Factory Motor cam would have bolted up in terms of bolt pattern. The bolt sizes are larger so I had to open up the holes on the cam to be able to mount it to the factory cam. So now I am waiting on a couple of new pinion gears because the only one I have is for 1/10 scale vehicle which is the correct pitch (48) and the correct hole size (again 3mm) but it is far too large to fit in the tiny little vehicle that is going into. The motor seems to be of good quality. But I obviously will not know for sure until it's installed and working. But everything bench tests well with a 3s Lipo. Will update after installation and testing.

Good cheap motor/esc for 1/16 scale car
Good cheap motor/esc for 1/16 scale car. I upgraded my brushed 1/16 slash with this system versus spending the money on the Traxxas brushlesss system. The only thing I had to do was cut an 1/8" or so off the motor shaft with a dremel to get it to fit the gearbox housing of the slash. After that a little gearing change and we were off. I did buy the programming card as well and it worked perfectly. The esc communicates with beeps versus lights if you try to program it without the card. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075Q8FX8T/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Time will tell how well the motor holds up, but so far so good. I deducted a star because there are not esc instructions given with the combo or any information of what programming card to use. A simple instruction sheet on setting endpoints and basic parameters would be nice. I may go back to FastWin for other cheap basher builds.

So far a great combo for a traxxas mini, if you have a dremel
So I bought this for my mini slash (I’m in the process of making it a mini e revo) and the motor is exactly the size I was looking for. However the motor shaft did need to be cut (extremely easy to do with a dremel) in order to fit the motor plate. I am however extremely disappointed at the requirement of a program card that is not included to change settings.

Terrible esc almost destroyed my car when it caught fire!
I got two both Esc went up in smoke literally one almost melted and caught my car on fire! Idk what short circuited but when it does man it gets hot enough to catch fire much less melt everything! Terrible esc but the seller did refund my purchase promptly but I wouldn’t recommend unless u keep a fire extinguisher near by

Best motor for your price
Love this little beast on a dromida 1/18th been running it on 3s without a problem no overheating. You do have to do some customizing to the pinion depending on car, beast of a motor

Zippy lil beast..
Zippy lil motor was inpressed with this thing.. definitely Universal had to do a lot of customization to make it work but am very happy! Only time will tell on how long it will last.
