Fun activity for kid and adult!
The media could not be loaded. This was a little difficult to assemble for my 9 year old, but it was an awesome activity for him and grandpa! The instructions aren’t very clear. But the final product is fun and putting it together is definitely an educational learning experience. Total assembly took about an hour- mostly because the parts were so tiny and it wasn’t clear which screw to use where. All in all, this is totally worth the $10 price tag.

Pretty neat
Good for my sons 2nd grade project and held up until after the project was over, however the motor definitely didn’t last long. Great for a quick months use but won’t last long term.

Cheap garbage... bring your epoxy
Buyer beware.Pay special attention to the pic that notes the dimensions of this product... it is painfully small, which makes it all the harder to assemble and work with. Furthermore, everything in this kit is of the cheapest quality imaginable. The screws strip super easily rendering them useless. the plastic gears do not mesh well and constantly chatter and skip. The blue baseplate, which anchors everything, flex to an unacceptable degree... thereby making the gear clearance even worse. The wires are the smallest gauge imaginable and break instantly if you try to strip them to expose more conductor. The instructions do nothing other then show you a general picture and say "make it look like this". And finally, worse of all, the large gears are not keyed onto the shafts in any way... they therefore quickly wear-out and slip on the shafts when the shaft rotates... rendering them useless. This sad excuse for a kit is, without question, the most disappointing purchase I have ever make on AMAZON. 100% do NOT recommend.

INACCURATE AND MISMATCHED PARTS. STILL FUN TO PLAY WITH
Does the job of demonstrating motor and generator functions, and it actually fun to play with. Parts don't fit together and all kinds of extra items are included, including wrong kinds of screws. If you need a simple motor and generator to show your kids how electricity gets produced buy it. Its not bad for the price. Just don't expect it to be easy to assemble.

Perfect for young teen just getting started with power generation
My eighth grader wanted to do a science project showing how rain water could generate power and this kit was a perfect way to get started. Instructions were easy to follow, the pieces were sturdy, and her usual low patience level wasn't even tested.
