I always read the 1-star ratings first, and hesitated to buy this tool, but I took a gamble and was a big winner. This is a fantastic tool, well made, sturdy, that does an impressive job. When the (AC DELCO) terminals (both straight and 90-degree) were crimped to my 8mm Packard wire, they were on for life. I tried with all my might but could not pull them off. The only tip I would give is to pinch the sides of the terminal a bit before inserting them into the crimping die. If you do this, you will get a perfect crimp every time. I did. I made three sets of plug wires and the crimps will outlast the wires.

I wasn't sure how good this tool would be based on some negative reviews, but I am really impressed with it for the price. Makes good, solid crimps and crimps to the wire and to the insulation at the same time.

Bought this to crimp copper ferrules on 6 AWG fine strand SOOW wire to attach to a Tesla Wall charger to ensure better contact. It works real well.

I had some guitar speakers I wanted to make quick connects for. This worked great once I found instructions online on how to use. Pretty simple once you see it in action. Can't speak to longevity but its heavy and seems durable, but we'll see how long the ratcheting mechanism works. All in all it did what I needed it too.
