Not a precision tool!
Using 4 screws to secure the guide to a wooden base, clamping the base to my worktable, I drilled a hole w/ a sharp 1" forstner bit. I put a 1" dowel into the hole; it was loose and crooked. I've done this before freehand, and know that when the hole's cut that way, the dowel is snug. When I examined the guide more closely, I noticed that the shaft on which the chuck is attached wiggles; no way to tighten it. That's why the hole is too large, and why it is not perpendicular to the base. The guide does not "bring drill press accuracy" nor does it "drill accurate right angled holes"; it is not a "precision" guide as the website describes it.

The design provides too much play. The torque and weight of the drill makes it difficult to drill the hole exactly on the center.Takes two people to make it work. One to drill and one to hold the guide.

Very handy for things that don't require fine precision. If it were made of all metal it would be more precise. Exactly what I needed for drilling holes in 4x4's for a cable railing system. Turned out very nice.

Promax Precision Drill Guide poorly constructed product
I really wanted this to be a great product as it would allow me to do Woodworking projects with different angles. IT DID NOT after drilling two holes witha fostner bit the arbor the drill attaches to bent!!!. I assumed it was this particular one and got a replacement after 1 hole the arbor bent!!! I have been a Carpenter for over 35 years When a tool performs this poorly it reflects on the Carpenter as well as the Company. Promax is off my list.

Three Stars
It worked or our purpose, but the system is a little sloppy and cannot be used for anything precise

Grey base and T-bar that holds chuck are plastic
Grey base and T-bar that holds chuck are plastic - though they look metal in the photo.Same unit as many other units sold under different brand names.Works fine as a simple guid for perpendicular holes, but would lack the strength for guiding non-perp holes.
