Great
It is a wonderful premise that ends up having cool world building and fantastic characters with a kickass cultivation system. I read this book on a whim, but i now am heading off to read every book Malcolm Trent has written, i suggest you do the same.Thank you sir for a fun ride.

Great start of a series that turns into six fighting chapters out of ten.
This book is great and captured my attention and imagination! Then I read the second book and I was like, "cool, cool some world building and fleshing out the story." but by the time I finished the second book I was like, "finally! That subplot sucked let's get on with the story!"I couldn't help myself and read from the third book on royal road then gave up on the story.Basically first book: cool superhero intro story that the main character barely gets their own feet under them.Second book: superheroes meet cultists. What I have read from the third book: nothing but dungeon diving and combat.Combat is used way to often! Like any important fight is like, "omg not another one of these!"Read the first book but don't bother after that.

A mix of superheroes, sci-fi, and fantasy/LitRPG
Fascinating premise, and I liked it a lot. I did keep wishing that the Dungeons & Dragons/WoW elements were a little less prominent, since it kept producing bad moments in the worldbuilding (like when they talk about options for armor, and these are people who live on a multi-planet sci-fi setting and for some reason are talking about "leather armor" and "robes" as if this was a D&D equipment guide).Read and enjoyed the first two, preordered the third, but if I were the editor I'd be telling the author: each time you put in a setting element pulled from D&D or WoW etc that isn't from Faerieland, ask yourself "could I make this more sci-fi?"The scan rings and sci-fi education are an amazing element; wish there was more of that. These are sci-fi people, not moderns and not extras in a Xena show! Like when they walk into a run-down room, and there's a bare lightbulb on the ceiling: why is it a lightbulb? Those are already going away, and the setting isn't in 1990! When the MC describes a neighborhood as buildings made of stone and wood... why aren't they using metal and plastic? It's a peculiar criticism, but the series would work for me MUCH better if the author took some time to make up new kinds of plastic ("plasteel?" "plascrete?") and use those; scan rings were an excellent start!I kept wanting to say "Pull less from D&D and a lot more from stuff like Star Wars" (one thing Star Wars tends to do phenomenally well is having everything be distinctly sci-fi while still seeming "lived-in").But anyway, since I'm not actually the editor: It's still pretty good.

Interesting world
I like this world, I think it's neat. The idea is original and I want to know what happens next. I really liked how a video game became a skill and all the character interactions

A strong cultivation/super hero beginning.
Wish Upon the Stars is a fairly unique superhero style cultivation story that seems to be setting up a very unique universe that feels almost too familiar given a sci-fi setting, but lays nice groundwork for a long epic. The MC, Shane, is likeable and sympathetic, but also growing. Outiside of an occassional jarring tone as the story bounces from optimistic to dark and back a few times, its nicely paced . There are strong male and female support characters, and a nice theme on good and bad parents . . . Shane's guardian seems lazy early but might be the best dad in the story. The cultivation system has some unique elements to it, like perception pushing growth but also attitude-adding to a nice cultivation tale. There is also a romantic subplot . . .that is neither slow nor rushed, and not racy so that adds to this being a decent traditional super hero tale as well.

Blackhole book
I found this serious from a Facebook post and as a trucker I rely on the audio. From the very start though it sucked me in and never let go. Even now, after finishing this book, I'm circling around the story, the world and setting, and the characters. Truthfully I feel as if each character is real. As if they have histories and personalities not included into the book. Even the throw away goons meant for single incounters feel real. I was never pulled out the flow by anyone being unreasonable or implausible. If a situation occurs that might seem too gimmick like or empty, the explanation is given early enough before the interactions to increase the rules of the world instead of justifying a ridiculous situation. Criminals in a world of organized heroes exist because for the same reasons those same heroes give interviews and wear silly outfits with silly names. From the very start I was pulled in until the story ended left and me orbiting. I eagerly await the audio for book 2, but if you can read books for yourself, this is certainly worthy of looking into.

Mildly contrived
I'd argue this is a good book, the world-building is incredibly interesting and the powers are fun, even if the system is a little simple it's quite flexible. However the characters and plot do feel odd a times, trails of logic can seem contrived or confusing and certain plot-holes show up in hindsight.I still recommended it, but beware the minor flaws.

Incredible
What a fantastic start. Straight out the gate, the story for this series has me hook, line and sinker. Onto the next!

Interesting
Very interesting concept for a story. A little unclear on how all the stuff works, I still don‘t know what the difference between heroic and legendary cultivation is, what exxactly the rank differences are, what skill levels there are and some, but besides being a little annoying it doesn‘t really deter from the story too much. Only thing really bothering me is the hero costume stuff, leotard and fishnets? Really bro?Still a fun read and a very interesting MC and world building.

I love a surprise
I can’t remember choosing the book and it sat waiting to be read for a while. I didn’t expect much at the beginning but once the ball got rolling it turned into a very decent read . I would recommend it .

Excellent start to a series
A good amount of exposition for a new world but not too wordy, a great cast so far, an interesting protagonist ability and some excellent potential.Who wouldn't want to take some video game abilities and make them reality. So cool!

Ein super Buch mit brillanten Power Systems
Die Geschichte entwickelt sich langsam und sehr stetig. Tolle Nebencharaktere und persönliche Interaktion. Eines der besten Bücher die ich gelesen habe.
