I tried this out in my last backpacking trip. The portion size was large enough to fill me up for the night and the flavor was spot on. The texture of the beef crumbles was very odd, however.I let this sit for a good long while and the beef never softened. It was like eating pasta with beef croutons. Strangest thing. I wouldn’t say it was unpleasant but it was definitely something to get used to.For the amount of protein in this, I’d say it’s worth trying, as it really was tasty. Just be ready for some crunch in your pasta.

Having been a lone backpacker throughout my life 'know' I've eaten countless 'High Dollar' Freeze Dried 'Far Less Than Tasty' pouch meals I've suffered through after leaving the house, bar 'All' the rest tonight's 'REAL' Hamburger "Beef Pasta Marinara" is this 'tastiest' and most Pleasant Feeling In My Mouth Freeze Dried Meals I've 'ever' eaten and I 'Truly Enjoy'd Eating both servings, I am 'Totally Amazed & Pleasantly Surprised! If I could attempt and complete an Appalachian Trail Thru Hike as I had scheduled back in '03 before I broke my back through 'five vertebra' on my last semi truck trip before I was to leave for the trail :( I doubt I would have dropped off 'any' of the 'Peak Refuel' Meals I would have been sent from home in the many hiker boxes along the way to the summit of Katahdin! I will now be buying several of Peak Refuel Meals each month to store for my two year supply of emergency food, forget about 'all' the rest of the countless other corporations selling 'Textured Vegetable Protein' (whatever it's made of) in all their tasteless 'good for twenty years' freeze dried meals for 'Just In Case,' now I've found one that uses 'Real Hamburger' that feels good in my mouth and is very tasty and very filling at the same time, Thank You Peak Refuel :)

Great quality ingredients and it almost tasted like a quick meal you could make at home. Enough calories in the two servings for most of the day.

Easy to prepare. Noodles and tomato paste are fairly flavorful. The beef pellets ruin the meal IMO. Soaked 'em 20 mins the first time, 40 mins the second time and they never hydrate. Taste like cardboard pellets... That said, it'll do in a survival situation. Pricey at $13.50 per package...

We bought this for my husband to have for some meals while hunting. We made a bag before he went to make sure he liked it and you could’ve fooled me that it was a freezedried meal. It tasted like it took hours to prepare. 10/10 recommend!!!

I must say this was absolutely delicious! I was skeptical at first cause I've never had freeze dried pasta in a bag before. I made sure to mix it well and let it sit for at least 12 minutes. I added some parmesan cheese and it was perfect! There were no hard pasta shells or anything. I ate this all to myself in less than five minutes. Yummy!! I would recommend this to anyone that loves a good pasta in marinara sauce. Adding Kraft parmesan cheese makes it ten times better!

Tast wasn’t too bad but the beef didn’t rehydrate very well. Portion is enough for you be person

Tastes bland and following the instructions produces soup. Just noodles floating in water. Not even remotely close to worth the money.
