Good product, can work with the Nikon Zf
I already have a PD clutch strap on my DSLR, which I love, so wanted to use it on my newly acquired Nikon Zf but the shutter release and command wheels are in the wrong place to use comfortably. So, I have bought the micro clutch for the Zf, although reviews on how well it works on the Zf are mixed, which is why I have decided to review it. I find it very comfortable to use, with my 3rd and 4th fingers in the strap. It feels secure and I can reach all the controls easily. With the Zf's small grip I felt like I was gripping really tightly just to avoid dropping it and the micro clutch means I can relax my hand when I am not taking a photograph and the camera still feels secure. Other Zf reviews have said their hands are too large for the strap - being female my hands are probably smaller than those reviewers and I have thin fingers. The strap is well made, although the strap adjustment is fiddly. I have only given 4 stars because the base plate covers the battery and SD card cover, but there is a magnetic tool which can be stored in the base plate to loosen the plate for pretty quick removal. My only concern is making sure the bolt is retightened properly each time. In summary, I am very pleased with the strap and would recommend to those with smaller hands.

Excellent Hand Strap for Mirrorless Cameras
The Peak Design Micro Clutch I-Plate hand strap is an excellent addition to my mirrorless camera setup. I've actually purchased two of them because they fit so well. Initially, it does take a bit of time to adjust and get everything set up perfectly. However, once you’ve done it a couple of times, it becomes second nature. One thing to note is that for most cameras, you will need to remove the plate to access the battery. While this might seem inconvenient at first, it really isn’t an issue and doesn’t take long once you get the hang of it. It’s a small trade-off for the added comfort and support the strap provides. It’s also worth mentioning that this strap will not work with the older capture clips, so keep that in mind if you’re using an older setup. Despite this, I’ve found the strap to be incredibly comfortable and it looks great on the camera. The design is sleek and it adds that bit more support, which is especially useful during longer shooting sessions. Overall, the Peak Design Micro Clutch I-Plate hand strap is a fantastic product. It provides excellent support, looks stylish, and once you’re familiar with its quirks, it becomes an invaluable part of your camera gear. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to add comfort and stability to their mirrorless camera experience.

Not for large hands and Nikon ZF
First off, it’s very well made but unfortunately I found it too restrictive when used with the Nikon ZF. I have reasonably large hands and I like to shoot manual quite a lot so I use the front dial a lot. I found it not very comfortable/restrictive when using the front dial to make camera adjustments, all other controls/buttons was fine and found it reasonably comfortable and it offered good security. Also as a side note, if you use something like the small rig grip you cannot use the micro clutch. It’s one or the other. I am sticking with the small rig, it’s about half the price, more comfortable and does not restrict access to the battery compartment. I use that in conjunction with the peak design cuff.

Too small for average hands
Too small for my very average sized hand so it was returned.

Clever design but not very comfortable
It may depend on the camera and the size and shape of your hands. With the FujiFilm X-E5 I find it cuts into the skin between my fingers. I'll hang on to it and may give it another try later but for now I'll go back to using hand and thumb grips. (It was also very fiddly to put together).

Not usable with large hands
Decent quality, but simply too small for those with (normal - size 10) large hands. This is the 4th Peak Design item I've bought, but the first I've found unusable. I use a PD clutch strap, which i really like, with my full frame Nikon, so thought i'd try this with a Fuji XT-30II. But the degree of extension in the clutch strap is pretty much zero - so not usable, for me at least. Shame. The assembly instructions could do with improving - you work it out after a few minutes, but they could be clearer on first reading.

Bought mine at the discounted price and totally feel the gripping of my camera in a higher level!

It’s super sturdy, really convenient, and you can tell it was designed with real users in mind. The triangular anchor didn’t quite fit Ricoh and caused a small scratch, but I don’t mind it. I ended up attaching it together with my wrist strap, and it still works perfectly. I’m really happy with it!

I've been using the original clutch for years and loved it. Naturally, I had to try the micro clutch for my EM10m4 M43 body, expecting similar results. The first problem I had was that it didn't ease the pressure on the hands at all. I tried a tighter config with 2 fingers in, as well as a looser config with 3 fingers. After shooting for 10 minutes at odd angles, I simply grabbed the camera directly instead of looping through the micro-clutch and it was such a relief! The restrictive design means that the hand can't grab the body as we normally could, causing more stress on the hands and fingers. The second really irritating issue is that it had to have a long base plate that blocks everything below, including the all-important battery and SD card cover flap. Sure they provide a proprietary tool that loosens the plate for us to push aside to access the battery compartment. But with the strap on the tighter end, the battery compartment was still blocked and the only way was to push it to the side by force. The silly proprietary tool may have a magnetic slot, but it is super easy to lose it when fumbling around outside. I've dropped it a couple of times, luckily in an urban environment and not in a forest. It'd be really to lose it when used outside in a forest. The final point is that it adds unnecessary weight with the superfluous base plate stretching across the entire body. I wish it was something like the old clutch with a tiny base plate so that there is some flexibility with hand movement and without blocking the battery compartment.

The PEAK DESIGN I Plate Micro Clutch has become an essential part of my everyday camera setup. I have been using it daily on my rangefinder for more than a year, and it has proven to be both reliable and incredibly practical. The grip adds just enough security without changing the feel or balance of the camera. It makes one handed shooting more confident while keeping the setup compact and discreet, which is exactly what I want for daily use. One of the things I appreciate most is how easy it is to remove and reattach. Whether I need to switch accessories or adjust my setup, the process is quick and hassle free. Nothing feels overengineered, yet everything feels solid and well thought out. After long term use, the build quality still holds up perfectly. It is a smart, minimalist accessory that improves comfort and handling without getting in the way, and it has earned its place on my camera every single day.
