Look VERY carefully at the instructions!
currently renovating two bathrooms, and I ordered this cutter sent to me in Japan to cut 298x298x10 (mm) porcelain tiles. This is the first time I've used one of these (on previous jobs I used an angle grinder), and I had misgivings due to a number of negative reviews--not just for this specific item, but similar tile cutters from other manufacturers. But even with shipping thrown in, this QEP model was incredibly cheap by Japanese standards so I decided to try it.The cutter came without any instructions other than two small photos on the box (which were mostly covered with shipping labels and I didn't find until after beginning the job), so I relied on Youtube videos and instructional sites, although not all instructions were the same. I tried practicing on a single tile and couldn't get it to break along the score line, no matter what pressure I applied. I thought the tile itself was too hard (10mm is approaching the1/2" limit printed on the box, and porcelain tile is harder than ceramic), so I was about to give up, until I decided to try placing the pressure arms at various places along the width of the tile (I had started out with the pressure arms in the middle, as one website recommended). When I placed the pressure arms at the very top edge, the tile popped apart with a beautifully straight edge. It required a good deal of pressure, but it did cut. From that point on, the cutter has worked well. So, for me, there are two "secrets" to getting good results:1. Be sure to score the tile well, preferably on the first pass. If you must make multiple passes, just be sure the tile doesn't move at all between passes.2. Apply pressure after placing the pressure arms at the very top (distal end) of the glide bars, and rather than just forcing the handle down, try squeezing the handle and glide bars using both hands, as shown in the instructional photograph on the box. (I say "try" because it doesn't always work.)Update (February 15, 2017)I'm still working on the second of the bathroom renovations and thought I'd add a couple of additional comments:3. The minimum width of tile slice (this refers to 8mm porcelain) I've been able to cut is 25mm (about 1").4. If you need to place a support under one side of the tile (like when trying to cut a 1" slice from a 12" tile), remove the support before attempting to snap the tile. The tile may not snap at all if the support is left under the tile, since the pressure arms have to be able to force both sides of the score line down in order to fracture the tile.

Nice!
Great nippers. Easy to work with.

Nippers worked well for a few weeks.
The spring popped out after about 6 uses. Disappointed by that, I thought they would last longer.

Good glass cutters.
Bethesda are great for my leftover pieces of glass.

Blade spacing is not close enough
These nippers are very difficult to use. The spring in the middle bows and the blades won't even cut glass that is as thick as a wine bottle. Nipping stain glass is also very difficult. The blade is not sharp enough to cut it. I Would not recommend.

Don’t waste your money
These nippers do not work well right out of the package! Unfortunately it’s past the return window. I bought them in May but got delayed starting my project until now. Ugh, so dissatisfied, they weren’t the most expensive but being new to working with stained glass I thought it would be ok to buy middle of the road priced option. These are terrible and now I’m delayed working on my mosaic piece again! I definitely would not recommend these!

Blade broke the first time using it.
Great tool if it didn’t break right away. I used it on my child’s glass mosaic tiles project. This was what the tool was designed to cut.

Poorly designed tool. It doesn’t cut at all. A total waste of money.
Could not use.

It cuts!
Works really great without much force on larger glass tiles. Works nicely with mosaic tiles too. I recommend this tool.
