Easy to use and affordable
This moisture meter is easy to use and helps me check on the readiness of my fire wood leading up to and throughout the winter season. We have a lot firewood from various trees that fall on our property and thus meter helps me keep track of what's ready to burn. It feels solid in the hand and doesn't have a cheap plastic feel.

Not providing as advertised
I’m not able to just lay the meter on wood and see the percentage. I have to hold it with both hands very close to wood see and the percentage fluxuate. I’v been settling for an approximate percentage.

Decent pinless moisture meter
This was my second tool from Huepar, and it seems to be another quality product from them. Using this meter is as simple as holding it up against the surface you'd like to measure. It is very responsive, and the display is large and easy to read. It runs on one 9V battery, and it comes with an instruction manual and a canvas protective case. For the typical DIY-er, I think you'll be pleased with the performance this meter.

Good meter for the money
I am an avid hobbyist woodworker, and I find moisture meters important to keeping the quality of my work high. I have wood stashed inside, and out in a shed. When I bring it into he garage to be worked on, a moisture meter lets me know when the wood is acclimated to the conditions. By noting its moisture on a notepad every day, I can tell when it's ready to be worked on if the value stops changing over time. Building from wood that's acclimated means less wood movement when I start milling it, which is really valuable to me. I don't like meters with pins because the pins always fail on me. I have several items from Huepar, and this meter is like their other gear - good quality and very reasonably priced. The meter is pretty easy to use too. Highly recommended!

Easy to use, with more applications than a pronged meter
I mill lumber and hardwood slabs for use in furniture, so having an accurate read on the moisture content of my wood is critical to avoiding cracks, twists, and other catastrophic movement after assembly. I can't afford a really high end unit, but I do now have both a pinned model and this pinless one. So I can average the two if I want to squeeze a little more accuracy out of each, but I have a feeling that I will be using this one more than the pinned one for several reasons: 1) Depending on the species of wood, the pins can leave a permanent dent or gouge at each testing spot. This is certainly true for drywall. 2) This one also works on masonry, while the pinned one does not. 3) No matter how careful you are, you will eventually bend or brake the pins. No such worry on this one. 4) This one has a much larger and brighter read out. All in all a critical piece of kit for any respectable woodshop.

Works great! No pins allows use on finished surfaces
I was looking for a moisture meter to help detect moisture damage and delamination in RVs. A lot of the testing is on finished walls, floors and ceilings so the old style often used in crawlspace and wooden foundation work with pins that stick into beams and joists is not an option. This is a great solution for that problem! The meter has 4 primary modes - 1. Walls, 2. Masonry, 3. Softwood and 4. Hardwood. The Softwood mode has 9 submodes for different varieties (the varieties are printed on the back of the meter for reference, but there is a mix of softwood, hardwood and exotic varieties that is a bit confusing and not explained in the manual).Powered by 3 AAA batteries with an auto-shutoff after approximately 3 minutes. Stated accuracy is +/- 4% which is a pretty wide range, bur acceptable for my intended use.It comes with a nice cushioned carry case.I'm very happy with this and recommend it!
