The suction power is great but it also makes it really hard to pick up. We were using it as a water dish and if you tried to pick up a bowl of dirty water, you pretty much spill it all over. The bowl also suctions itself inside of the holder so good luck getting it out without making a mess. I got this so I could outsmart him, thinking he wouldn't be able to spill water absolutely everywhere anymore! I was wrong. It worked for a while until he realized he could tip the included metal bowl with his nose. Once I removed the metal bowl and started using the mat itself as a water dish... Well, my cat has been defeated! No more puddles in the kitchen. He still washes his paws in the bowl, though, but he can't dip tye silicone far enough to spill water. Excellent product.
