Whoever wrote the instructions should be fired. At least their YouTube video was more straightforward which allowed me to get my fingerprint logged successfully, as well as a new code. I was able to test both once done and it worked fine. I then went to access the safe a few weeks later and I couldn't get in with either my fingerprint or the code forcing me to use the friggin key!!This scenario has happened more that once and of course now the return period has expired. 😡😡😡😡😡**Update**I was able to determine that the batteries I used were not new as I previously thought.Once I used brand new batteries, everything stored and subsequently worked great. Hurray. The true test will be to see if it still works a few weeks from now, but I expect no issue. :-)UPDATE #2, 5/16/24I have a another biometric safe similar to this one that you need to hold your finger on the sensor until it unlocks. I have determined that this particular safe once you store your fingerprint four times, you just touch the sensor and remove your finger right away. If I leave my finger on the sensor it gives me an error and it does not open. However, if I just put my finger on the sensor and remove it right away it recognized it every time! Go figure, but at least it now works successfully with both the biometric sensor as well as my new code. Hooray!

I had ordered a 1.2 cf safe and got this one. Very nice looking and easy to set up and use. It is very light for a safe. I would suggest fastening down to something.

Perfect size not too heavy

I read some of the reviews and thought I might purchase this for the same reasons. I too said the packaging was great, HOWEVER, that is the only good thing I have found that I like and it would be too much of an issue to return such a large item. I don't know who said the instructions were great. I have a different opinion and isn't a good one. I followed the instructions and I can close and lock the safe but it WONT open when using the new pass code. Using my new code does nothing but set off the alarm so I took out the batteries and can ONLY access the opening using the passkey. I will not return the safe as it will be nothing but a sacrificial item for thieves should they access my property. I will weight it down with exercise weights and other non essential things while my important property will be kept away from this box. Had this box, which is the only word I can use to describe its purpose, been of any value I would have purchased several more for other property THIS WONT HAPPEN. there is no way it will protect my things in water conditions and all the plastic will just melt in a fire forcing me to have to cut the entire box in pieces to gain access. Ill spend my money on someone else's products. I'm just glad I can open it now with the keys provided.

Love it very secure

The safe arrived in lots of packaging and was well-protected during shipment. While the manual could be clearer, it’s straightforward enough to figure out. The safe is surprisingly spacious and perfect for storing documents, jewelry, and other common items. It’s sturdier and heavier than I expected for the price but small enough that it’s not hard to move around or place it on top of a table. Mounting it appears to be easy as well. Now we can finally stop misplacing important things and keep them secure.

So many safes at this price point seem problematic, not this one. The directions are easy to understand and the biometric works well, as does the keypad. I like that the batteries are inside the door.
