I used to do some latch hook, back in the 70s, but it isn't anything I've tried recently. I just remember that it seemed to take so very long to do, so while I was interested in doing it again, I didn't want a project that would end up abandoned in a back corner of my closet.This wall hanging is fairly small, and it isn't all latch hook, so it stays interesting to do and it doesn't take all that long. The instructions are fairly clear, but I did rip out and start over on the very first section, the herringbone stitch, as it just looked awful. I needed to not just "pull gently to form a loose stitch," but stitch in a way to intentionally leave extra yarn in places to give some texture. I worried a lot that I used far too much yarn here, but I did still have enough to complete the project. The photo, taken before I did the final "decorate" step, shows the yarn I had left from the four skeins and the long latch hook portion. There is plenty left to wrap part of the hanger and add a pompom and/or tassel.The kit contains pretty much everything you will need. Grab a scissors, and have some glue for the final decorate step, and you are good to go. I had a tape measure I used too, when cutting yarn, but the bottom of the directions booklet does have a ruler, so that isn't strictly necessary.A couple notes on working this: in low light, it is pretty easy to mix up the cream and white in the latch hook yarn. As long as you are aware that there are the two colors, you should be good though.When cutting things like 18 7" lengths of yarn, I cut a 14" section, then used it to make eight more 14" lengths. Then I folded the whole lot of them in half and cut. Most of the points where you are cutting a length of yarn, it doesn't have to be absolutely exact.I like playing with texture, so this was fun.

My daughter-in-law loves to crochet and she loves this! The kit has everything you need and the instructions are great.

Couldn’t even complete my crochet project, as it was missing the needle. I tried using the crochet hook but it does not achieve the save results! Disappointed in this product.

Cute kit that makes an adorable hanging once done! I wish the yarn was a smidge better quality but given that it's aimed at teens/tweens it's not surprising. Easy to follow directions. Would be nice if all the lengths that needed to be cut were pre-cut, the way some of it is.
