91 Points out of 100 by Coffee Review Magazine Blind Assessment: Richly sweet in the aroma, combining complicated layers of flowers, crisp lemon and a slight peppery note. A rounder version of the aromatic complexity carries into the cup, with deepening notes of aromatic wood. Medium body, delicate mouthfeel and floral-toned acidity. Toasty sweetness persists into the finish along with a suggestion of astringency as the cup cools. Notes: A prize winner in the 2010 Best of Panama competition, where as a green (unroasted) coffee it placed fourth out of hundreds of entries, attracting a score of 88.35 from an international jury. This coffee is Rainforest Alliance certified, meaning it was produced following sustainable ecological and socio-economic criteria developed by the Sustainable Agricultural Network, a coalition of independent, environment-focused non-governmental organizations. Carmen Estate is among the most distinguished of Panama's many fine coffee farms, with a string of successes in green coffee competitions.
