Zinus Cottage Style Platform Bed, Full, Black

First off, I hardly ever write positive reviews. If I like a product, that means it works the way it was intended and I just don't think to review it. While putting this frame together though, I was really impressed and decided to give kudos to the manufacturer.The instructions are quite different from what I've seen on numerous other furniture assembly projects. In a typical experience you would find piece 1 and 7 and combine them in just the right way, without knowing which part of the furniture you are working. With Zinus, you match numbers to see where they connect. Sticker 1 goes up against the other piece with sticker 1! Once you get the gist of this system it is an amazing time saver!Also, each step of the instructions have a closeup showing how the pieces fit together, AND, a thumbnail image showing which part of the frame I was working on! This is such a breath of fresh air when assembling. I always find it frustrating when connecting two pieces without having any idea how they fit into the final product. Granted, a bed frame is pretty simple, but I would be happy to build a dresser or desk using this system!Finally, I was really impressed with some of the details on this frame. For example, the slats sit on a strip of velcro rather than just sliding around wood against wood. With the velcro you get perfectly spaced slats, and zero slippage. Brilliant!

My wife and I were ditching our old queen bed for a king and needed a new headboard to match our black bedside tables from Crate & Barrel. My wife was reluctant to order this one (which was about 1/4 the price of similar one's we found at our local furniture stores) based on a couple of the reviews here saying it was "flimsy". I convinced her we should give it a shot and she is thrilled. First of all it's solid as a rock... there's nothing remotely flimsy or compromising in the look, design or quality of the headboard or frame. It took us about 30 minutes to put together.

Parts for the king platform bed frame and headboard were packed very well. Wood pieces were well protected with styrofoam blocks and sheets. Manufacturer even plastic wrapped the styrofoam blocks so you don't have the tiny foam beads statically stuck to the various parts. All parts were tightly packed in a cardboard box. The entire box was then packed in another cardboard box adding extra protection during shipping.Assembly was very straight forward. Simple instructions. All bolts and washers were included as well as a few extra bolts. Manufacturer also included a ratcheting allen wrench and a standard allen wrench for assembly. I took my time putting the frame together. Took less than half an hour to complete.I had an excellent experience with this product and would confidently purchase again. I hope you have the same experience.

This review is specifically for packaging and assembly - Queen size Zinus Santiago - we have not used the bed yet. Even though i put together many shelves, desks, and cabinets, I was reluctant to buy a bed that requires assembly. But a friend recently purchased and was pleased with Zinus bed. Bed arrived on time. I was impressed how sturdy the shipping box was. Inside, there was another just as sturdy inner box. There is no chance that contents would get damaged in transit. The contents were arranged inside with the perfect precision - no movement or banging. I was totally amazed to see that *each* styrofoam spacer was placed inside of the plastic sleeve! - NO messy styrofoam flakes after unpacking. The assembly was very easy. It took me a little over an hour at a *leisure pace* in a cramped space. The holes are aligned with laser precision. The hardware is high quality - the nuts and bolts are well-threaded and fit perfectly. It takes virtually no effort to assemble the parts. And Instructions deserve whole a lot of praise! Clear, concise, large, easy to follow schematics. Other manufactures should learn form Zinus how to ship their stuff. Thank you Zinus! I hope I will be just as pleased when we begin using the bed. -> I will update this review if needed.

I probably spent 4-5 hours looking on prime for a bed frame that had mostly good reviews, and finally found this frame. I generally don't leave reviews unless an items deserves it. Let me say this much, this frame is the best you'll find for the money. I'm sure you can find a even stronger bed if you want to spend a lot more. Easy to assemble, I'm a pretty handy guy so this was a no brainer. The box is very heavy, so you will most likely need a friend to help you carry it to your assembly spot. I think for the money you can't beat this frame. Im a big guy, and after laying down I felt it to be solid. I will update this review if anything changes.

Never ordered a online bed before but I was pleasantly surprised in the condition and the ease of putting this together. Just remember to take your time and clear enough space when putting it together and you should be fine. As far as the product goes it’s very sturdy and squeak free, fit and finish is surprisingly good I don’t think you would be disappointed in ordering us.

I waited a couple of weeks to write this review just in case. I love this bed.The bed was easy to put together, I put it together by myself. Would be easier with 2The slats have velcro that attach to the frame to keep them moving aroundThey also have double sided tape when you put the mattress on so it stays in place.I was worried about how some reviews said the wood cracked. I am 95% sure it's because they tightened the screws too much. Once the screw is tight, stop twisting. If you force the screw tighter that is what splits the wood.There were a couple of small scrapes on the black wood, but I used a black sharpie and now you can't tell there was ever a flaw.I bought this bed to replace a metal bed that I was stupid enough to buy. Unlike that bed this one is quiet, it doesn't side around the hardwood floors or scuff the floors. I highly recommend this bed.

First, the product came double boxed, and probably 50% of the interior volume consisted of styrofoam sheets of packing. Needless to say, the bed arrived in perfect condition. The styrofoam was all encased in plastic bags, so there was no mess as it was removed from the packaging. I highly recommend you open the first box lengthwise, then do the same with the second box. That way you can spread open the cardboard and it's easy-peasy to remove all the packing as you remove the bed pieces.Second, the bed is incredibly easy to put together. There aren't actually that many pieces, and the screw holes and such are perfectly accurate and everything fits just as it should. Everything you need is included in the box. Apart from a utility knife to open the box, and then to open the mattress slats, you need no other tools. They include an Allen key and - get this - a mini Allen ratchet that works awesomely well. All the hardware is labelled, and they even include some spares. The instructions are large and clear, if not quite intuitive. It helps that there's not many pieces and it's obvious what goes where. As you tighten some screws it may seem like a few don't want to go in - are they cross-threaded?! - but give it a few turns and all is well.We bought this for our 3.5 year old son. It is solid wood, no particle board in sight. It is absolutely an amazing deal, such that I'm writing this lengthy (for me) review. It all fits together, and is a solid piece of furniture. I absolutely recommend this product!

I was a little hesitant to purchase a bed from Amazon by a brand that I’d never heard of, but I needed something quick so I ordered this one. It arrived earlier than expected which was great!The quality turned out to be great! The headboard is very heavy and sturdy. The rest of the bed seems to be well made also, we will see how it holds up. The legs do seem quite small considering the amount of weight a bed needs to support, but we have no issues after using it for a few days. I love that the slats attach to the base with a Velcro strip. This eliminates shifting and the accompanying noise that happens when the slats aren’t firmly attached.You will likely need a second set of hands to build the bed. I was able to do everything myself other than attach the the headboard to the base, I did need someone to hold the headboard steady while I attached it. I love that this bed came with a ratchet, it made assembly a breeze. I built the bed in about an hour. It also comes with a few additional screw in case you lose any parts.Overall I’m very pleased with the bed, it seems to be great quality and it looks exactly as pictured. If you’ve ever built furniture from IKEA, putting this together will be a breeze. I would recommend this bed.

This is the third Zinus bed we’ve purchased and our recent purchase completely exceeded our expectations. Packed so meticulously and the directions for assembly are very straight forward. This bed is well worth the price and you will not be disappointed.

We managed to get this bed frame at a pretty good price and it looks so nice in our bedroom. It's modern and the colour goes with everything. It was really easy to put together and it's help up really well so far. It's nice that it doesn't require a box spring however it's much shorter than our previous bed. We like it but it's something to note for when you purchase. Overall I would buy it again for another room as we like it so much!

I am very pleased with this Zinus cottage style bed frame including the headboard! Easy to assemble with easy to follow directions. Looks great in my teenage son's bedroom. The dimensions of this bed frame and headboard fit perfectly under the bedroom window. It looks exactly like the picture in the ad and even better in person!
