Tech-phobic, short-sighted, need motivation for healthy walks (like me)? This watch may be for you.
I just acquired (not from this seller) a nice Smart Watch in order to monitor my HR and daily steps (as well as the time, day and month. Before it would work for me it required to be twinned with my Smart Phone. Fail! Maybe my Smart Phone is too old (like me). After wasting more time, temper and energy than I like to remember (late to bed again) I gave up.This Pedometer Watch is for people like me. Lovely big black lettering. No need of a Smart Phone or any other tech. No need to remember to charge, though you will have to get the battery replaced about every 18 months. Clear instructions, but you won't need many. If your elderly relative needs motivation to walk more, this might make the perfect Christmas present. At midnight, the step counter automatically resets itself to zero, so no-one needs to remember to do that either.Being untidy and disorganised, I managed to mislay the Instruction leaflet before I had read it. Another customer helpfully advised me to contact the seller, as s/he had found them very helpful. Sure enough, Hearkent got back to me very quickly with a copy of the leaflet. So a buyer has not only an ingenious product, but excellent backup too. Incidentally, this watch is currently out of stock, but there are lots of interesting watches in the Hearkent store, including ones that speak (for the visually challenged). Well worth a look.NB the step counter will not work so well, seriously short-changing the user, if s/he walks with a stick held on the same side as they wear the watch. Unfortunately this is the same for all sports watches, even the most expensive.

A neat non app watch
There are many fitness watches now available which require a smartphone and a downloadable app with a Bluetooth link to be used properly. The fact that many seniors may not have smartphones (or dislike the way that apps tend to data mine the contents of their phone) this is a cheap and cheerful stand alone watch / pedometer driven by a CR2430 battery (lifetime quoted as 12 – 18 months). It is functional (rather than mega elegant) with a rubber wrist strap and is water resistant to 50m so can be worn in the shower or on the beach / swimming. There are 4 buttons to set up and make adjustments. A bit of a learning curve, but a good instruction sheet is included. The pedometer seems to work so long as you swing your arms rather than just step. and is useful to see just what ones “resting state” ie non vigorous exercise activities around the house and garden score. Give it a provisional 4 star but will need to update as to when the battery needs replacement. NOTE Usually waterproof watches (to 50m) lose some of heir water proofness when batteries are replaced by Highstreet watch sellers but I have no intention of diving that deep – should still be splash and rainproof

Very easy to use and clear to read
This is an ideal pedometer for someone who struggles with using bluetooth pedometers or has difficulty reading the faces and operating the dials. The screen is very clear and easy to read and the watch came set up at the correct date and time so nothing needed setting up.The instructions are clear and precise and there is no confusion as to which button does which. You can move easily between the pedometer and the calorie settings and if you want to set the stopwatch it is just a press of a button for start and stop.Another very big plus from me, especially as I have small wrists, is that the design of the wrist band means that the wrist strap can be fastened on all size of wrist. Brilliant idea and a great watch/ pedometer

A Dumb old school watch.
This is so old school that it's ON in the box when its arrives was also set to BST for UK not GMT and the correct date.So you have no idea how long this watch battery included will last. There was a screen cover on the one provided, but it was super hard to remove. l.olEdit 3rd water dunking was in salt water in the sea. so really is better than water-resistant. But can not confirm that it is deeper waterproof did not go far out would have taken it off if it was more expensive but it did survive the bath which has killed some water-resistant watches. lol. So yes its lives after its first Sea water run.

Chunky and reasonably attractive with a rubber-like strap
The watch arrives in a small plain white cardboard box, so either no points for presentation or full marks for not wasting money on packaging... but if you obtain this as a gift for somebody you might think about a presentation case.Setting the watch is simplicity and the instructions are clearly presented and written in English. Even resetting the hour from BST to GMT is straightforward. The displays are large and clear, although as with all pedometers the results are an approximation as the length of each step is not recorded. Thus my four-year old granddaughter will take twice as many steps as me to cover a given distance simply because my stride is longer. However

Large size
This watch was very easy to set up as it comes with clear instructions. You can easily toggle timers and alarms on and off but the only thing I haven't been able to figure out is how to turn off the beep when the buttons are pushed. The face is bigger than I'm used to and so the buttons frequently get pushed when I bend my wrist but otherwise it's comfortable. The band has very wide openings in the strap that remind me of a hose clamp- allows for ultimate variability in sizing and breathability but makes me nervous about durability. The pedometer function is very sensitive, it gives me good credit for washing dishes. Confirmed waterproof. Pictured with a US Quarter for size reference.

Doesn’t work at all
I’ve walked over two miles and the darn thing still reads 0 steps.I ordered a replacement but have low expectations and am annoyed I have to not go to the ups store.

I loved the way it fit and it was a perfect weight on wrist but never could get it to work. Sadly I am returning it.

Good for steps without having to share my info
Just wanted a plain watch like this without having to hook it up to an app or wifi. Still getting to know the other features, but I went for a walk this morning and brought the iPhone (didn't even realize the health app is recording my daily steps without me even knowing) to check it and they matched up. Nice color, pretty lightweight and much more comfortable than having to carry my phone in pocket or on hip in a fanny pack weighing me down.

Refreshing
Patience. The pedometer numbers aren't immediate. But, wait a while and they appear. Call it delayed data. And, remember they're just approximations of how much you move.At midnight it will reset automatically to zero. Truly, the best refreshment. How wonderful to pick this up in the morning, see the zero, and realize that it's the start of a new day with the goal of getting a higher score!Lightweight (only 50 grams), comfortable to wear, all features working as they should, this is a fun watch packed with information a Rolex doesn't provide.
