The JAPAN S shoes are based on one of our throwback offerings from 1981. This reworked iteration is formed with a low-top silhouette that's complete with a court-inspired toe box and throwback colorways. Updated with a modified cupsole, this shoe is offers comfortable underfoot cushioning. Mimicking the aesthetic of a heritage basketball sneaker, this style is also paired with nostalgic branding, like the ASICS Stripes on the quarter-panels and "ASICS" lettering at the heel. The JAPAN S shoe's vintage basketball aesthetic is also paired with iconic court-specific details that are inspired by footwear worn by basketball players in the 1980s.

Nice shoes
Well-constructed. May run slightly larger than the Asics running shoes but still fit. Comfortable. The sole compound is ortholite which is nice but a firm compound. Wife says they are kind of loud when I walk on the hard floors early in AM. Good lifestyle shoe with jeans.

Son loves these. Better profile and top down look than the original design which is more chunky, Air Force One like.

Super style, nice sole, quality shoe. Just a hair thin if you have wide feet.

The comfort and color way.
The comfort of the shoe is really good, especially the padding at the heal area. The colorway is also unique and attracts the attention of the people. The shoe might feel a little heavy due to the thich sole. The heel height is a little high than what I expected and definitely makes you look taller. The leather on the shoe feels really good and is at its best queality. But the traction of the shoe is a little low.
