Love this strap for photography
As someone who really enjoys photography and hiking, I absolutely love this phone wrist strap. It did take some getting used to since I had only used thinner straps; but once you start appreciating/using the adjustment options on this strap, the two clasps, and how easily it can be moved to various cases; it's actually pretty awesome. Since it's pretty thick there's no having to worry about the strap possibly breaking, and it's lighter than it looks and comfortable on the wrist. I've used it on a few walking trips; but am really looking forward to take it on hiking trips where I'm most likely to drop my phone and it's been awesome at busy events like football games. I've dropped my new iPhone 15 Pro Max a few times, my heart beats for a second or two, and then it's a nice feeling when I realize the strap was on the phone and it's still attached to me :-)I usually never pocket my phone, and will usually walk around with the phone in my hand. Nowadays, it's a dangerous thing to do considering the number of people that are out there that love to borrow what doesn't belong to them - with this strap I'm pretty confident the phone won't be easily snatched. ...I suppose there's some danger in that since they'll take me with the phone. You do need a case that's closed on the bottom to use this, it won't work with cases where the whole bottom is open; unfortunately that means most designer/genuine leather cases - those cases are usually wide open on the bottom so there is no way of placing the lanyard connector in the case (I suppose glue to tape might work; but probably not ideal).

UAG Starts Drifting
The lanyard itself was cool-looking, the problem is the G ring carabiner: the spring inside is too soft & the wire made D ring on the little thingy is too thin, so it’s easily to slip out when you using it the supposed-way, it’s like a Korean dude using a Magnum condom—he’s everywhere. The phone slipped out the ring & dropped within the first 2 minutes of usage, really disappointed, very similar to the iPhone 15 Pro Max carbon case & Z Flip 5 case made by the same company.UAG is starting get into Leatherman-mode now: they trying to do everything but can do nothing right.

Not Impressed
I have always liked the look of Urban Armor Gear products, especially their cases. So when my wife and I were preparing for an Alaskan cruise, I ordered this lanyard for her. She would be the first to tell you that she is not the most graceful and tends to suffer from butterfingers from time to time. I could just see that happening with her Galaxy S23 Ultra as she leaned over the railing of the ship to take a photo in the cold, wet weather. When the lanyard arrived, I really liked the looks of it, so I ordered a second one for myself. On our second port of call, my wife reached for her phone as we walked down the pier, When she pulled it out of her jacket pocket, the lanyard was nowhere to be found. The connector was still securely inside her phone case, but the lanyard had become disconnected and was gone. I assumed that she had not fastened it correctly, so when we got back to our stateroom, I took my lanyard and connected it to her phone, making sure that it was nice and secure. Two days later, that lanyard was also missing. If I cannot trust the lanyard to even stay on the phone, how am I supposed to trust it to prevent our phones from falling to the ground if we fumble them while taking a photo? The lanyards look great, and everything but the clasp seems to be made from quality material. But, until the clasp is changed to something a little better, I cannot recommend this product.

Very Nice (if you need a wrist strap)...
Well, this is embarrassing... I saw UAG's crossbody version of this lanyard, came back to get it the next day, and accidentally ordered the wrist strap version (this listing). I didn't need a wrist strap, but I figured I'd make the best of it and see how I could use it.The most obvious non-phone use for a wrist strap like this is to pair it with a camera. Tested on a couple of my DSLR and mirrorless cameras, it works great, but I already have dedicated straps for that application. If you want to use it like this, however, make sure that your camera (or cage) has a strap attachment point that can be used with this spring clip, and that said clip (which is metal) won't scratch your camera body.Back to phone use, I can't see myself needing a wrist strap on a regular basis, but it attaches securely enough to my phone with the included "lanyard pad" (the phone case insert), that it will be handy on our next hike when taking pictures in perilous terrain. For more common everyday scenarios, you may benefit from this if you often wear clothing with no (or very small) pockets; the phone hangs off of my wrist very securely and allows me to keep two free hands -- it's worth noting, however, that if you want a wrist strap that will cinch tightly around your wrist, this one won't do that. At its tightest setting, most people (except maybe those with exceptionally large hands) will be able to take their hand in and out of the lanyard freely; it will certainly prevent most (if not all) accidental drops, but it won't give you that extra peace of mind if you want a tight fit. Just for kicks, I also tried wearing this around my bicep; it stays in place remarkably well, and if you don't mind looking weird and having a phone flopping against your forearm all day, it's an even better way (as I mentioned, if you don't have pockets) to keep the phone out of and away from your hands.I did order the crossbody version after I received this and realized my mistake, and both share the same high-quality construction and materials. For fans of the brand, the lanyards are unmistakably UAG and have that familiar, rugged look. The all-metal clip and hardware are a nice upgrade from some cheaper alternatives on Amazon, and every piece is tastefully marked with barely-visible UAG logo. I found the crossbody lanyard mildly irritating on my neck (when not worn cross-body), but the wrist strap does not irritate my hand, wrist, or arm at all despite being made of identical material.Another reviewer shared a bad experience with two of these lanyards detaching from a phone whilst in a pocket and becoming lost -- I can replicate this by pressing the outside of the hinged portion of the spring clip against the metal loop on the lanyard pad "just right," which could conceivably happen whist the phone and lanyard shift around inside a pocket when moving/walking. While I undestand that reviewer's refusal to recommend this -- and I even agree that the design of the clip should be better as a result of his account -- this same accidental detachment cannot happen when the phone is actively hanging from the lanyard (not in a pocket), so I'm not worried about dropping my phone or losing the lanyard during my use.Minus one star for price. The wrist strap is indeed very nice, but it's simply made of polyester cord and tiny bits of aluminium -- I recommend it if you like the look (and unlike me, you actually mean to get a wrist strap), but at $35, you'll be paying a premium for the UAG name.

Awesome accessory
+ made from high quality materials+ available in 2 colors+ easy to use+ easy installation+ helps with taking photos with one hand+ nice, bright color+ works with every case, you do not need UAG one to use it- too long (for me)- changing length might be difficult at first

expensive for what you get
The UAG lanyard is useful if you want a robust way to secure your phone to your wrist. It's also possible to re-use this anywhere the lanyards' carabiner will fit.The lanyard will fit most phone cases but be aware you cannot use this without a case. (unless your phone has a slot for a lanyard). It's also a little bulky in your pocket and you'd end up wanting to take it off when not needing. The quality is good and is practical to use however this is very expensive at £35 and plenty of cheaper alternatives at equally as good quality.
