A reminder of Japan
I have been buying mentaiko spaghetti sauce from Japanese groceries as I can find it. The packages are usually either single serving or family size, so opening the bag and realizing that each pouch contains two single servings was a nice surprise. The flavor is just as I remember from Japan and each serving is just the right size for a bowl of spaghetti. It's quick, easy to use and the only clean-up required is the spaghetti pot, the bowl and fork. I love taking cooked spaghetti to work, heating it up and then mixing in the mentaiko sauce. Yummy with just enough heat. On the days that I want more heat I either use less spaghetti or a second packet. I'll be buying lots of this in the future.

Love this stuff... used to live in Japan
For those of you unfamiliar with this stuff it'll be kind of freaky. You won't find it in most Japanese restaurants in the states (unless there's a large Japanese population in the area). It's a dish you will however find very commonly served in coffee houses and Italian places all over Japan and yes it has pink fish eggs instead of tomato sauce. This one has just a touch of heat which in my mind makes the dish. If you're an open minded eater you'll probably really enjoy it. The price is also pretty good. I'm in the Chicagoland area and we have a massive Japanese supermarket in the western suburbs and the price here for 6 packs -- 2 individual servings in each bag... broke down to a bit cheaper than what they're selling them for individually.I suggest using it with fine noodles spaghetti and a generous pinch of parmesan, although I use it with shirataki noodles cause I'm on a low carb diet.

Delicious, but my topping was chives only (no nori)
If you want mentaiko pasta, this is it. The package says use 100g of pasta, but it's a bit salty so you could use 110 or even 120g for one serving. Mentaiko (karashi mentaiko) is seasoned with red hot pepper, but it's not too spicy -- you can always add a bit of butter before eating if you think it's too hot. I was a little surprised when my topping packet only had dried chives in it, since the photo on the packaging shows nori as well. I think the non-spicy tarako version has the nori topping. Either way, this is delicious, and I can add my own nori.

Good stuff, very good stuff
Good stuff, very good stuff. The sauce is not dehydrated, rather, it is a thick paste which thins just a bit as it mixes with the little bit of water that still clings to the pasta. There's just the right amount of sauce in one packet to coat 3 1/2 ounces of spaghetti, which filled up a medium-size soup bowl - just right for lunch. The toppings packet contains dehydrated chives which seemed kind of tasteless to me; next time I'll substitute fresh sliced green onions or Nori flakes (other reviewers have noted that the toppings packet used to be Nori but the manufacturer switched to chives). As to how spicy this is: I like spicy-hot foods, and to me the sauce has a mild, pleasant burn that really complements the sauce's fishy/salty/creamy flavor. My wife, however, is very sensitive to hot foods and would not be able to eat more than a couple bites of this.If you're like her, get the manufacturer's non-spicy (tarako) version; if you're like me, this is the one you want.Enjoy!

delicious.
I was pleasantly surprised that there are 2 individual servings in each of the 6 packets!tried for the first time over some ramen-spaghetti hybrid, probably around 100g.at first it seemed like there would not be enough sauce, but the more I mixed, it looked like it would work out. in the end all the noodles were coated and there was even sauce pooling at the bottom of the bowl.it also seemed like the seaweed pack was very small, but again I was fooled - a bonanza of seaweed came out!it didn't seem like there was much spice going on, but by the end I could feel a little - not in each bite, but rather a lot of tingling of lips and mouth. I'm curious to try the regular non-spicy version now too.I licked the bowl clean.I am going to put this on pizza. I am going to make horsdeouvres for parties, like: water cracker / cream cheese / mentaiko / seaweed.

Love the taste, but don’t buy it here
I loved this mentaiko flavor so much so I’m repeating to buy it more than five times, but the last order that I received was Tarako flavored instead of Mentaiko. So I no longer buying it from here.

So delicious
I love mentaiko so much and this product is exactly what I’ve been craving. Unfortunately mine came 4 days expired but I’m probably going to eat it all anyway. (I’ve had two servings already and no issues) My only complaint is that they changed from nori to chives. The chives are alright, but the nori was really perfect. No big deal though, I just bought my own shredded nori!

Delicious
I use less than recommended to avoid sodium intake and it’s nicely salty and tasty enough
