String Theater!
I heard this weird album being played before a Dream Theater concert last year and finally got around to getting a copy for myself. If you ever wondered what complicated Dream Theater songs would sound like done by a string quartet then here's your chance! The song choices are good and were made with the assistance of former Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy himself so I guess it has his blessing. This is definitely an album for die hard fans who want everything related to Dream Theater and is almost a novelty compared to the real thing but it's still entertaining and interesting overall. Check it out for something different.

Great sound and orchestration. It's remarkable what DT's melodies and rythms contain, minus lyrics!

Light classic music with Dream Theater melodies
I was expecting much heavier sounds. If you are like me, I do not strongly recommend this album. If you like melodious music with very light sounds, this might be a good choice. Probably my score should be between 3 and 4 closer to 3.

WOW!
I bought this album because I buy everything related to Dream Theater. I was strongly suspicious that this album would suck but I was pleasantly surprised. This album is dead on pretty much note for note and I love their song selection. As a DT fan for 11 years I recommend this album to any other DT fan out there.

The CD is great, although the track listing on the case doesn't match up with how they are on the CD...BUT this will show who the true fans are if they noticed this small error and can tell the actual order...

Die Dream Theater Songs sind einfach nicht für solche Instrumente geschreiben. Da verschwinden einfach zu viele Elemente die sie mit den Streiechern nicht darstellen können.Bei Apocalyptica hat das mit den Metallica Songs besser geklappt. Die Songs sind ja auch einfacher gestrickt.

何のためのアルバムなんでしょう？完コピでもなければ、それ以上のアレンジがあるわけでもなし。ヘヴィなリフを一生懸命真似ようとしてもムリがありますし、ちょっとヒネリのあるソロフレーズ等も単純なスケールの昇降に変えてあります。っていうか、この人たち、あんま聴き込んでないんじゃないの？できないなら、やらなきゃいいのにね。
