Better than nothing
This DVD is a little primitive and in places is cobbled together at best but bearing in mind that this is for pre-schoolers, it shouldn't cause too much of a problem. If, however, your child is used to watching a lot of modern children's television and/ or playing computer games etc. then they will probably get bored very quickly with this. Also, this appears to be yet another American production teaching Mexican/ Latin American Spanish so bear this in mind also. If, like me, you are serious about teaching your child Spanish then you have probably come to accept that you have to take whatever you can get and exposing your child to this type of material is better than nothing at all. Considering that Spanish is the most widely spoken primary language in the world, it is surprising the lack of learning material for teaching children the Spanish language. I must have purchased almost every course available, only one of which was Castilian Spanish (search for Heather Amery and Stephen Cartwright - Usborne Books) and most of them are quite dated and unimaginative. It seems the only way is to pay for private lessons!

Amateur and Dull
I am a language teacher so perhaps I am a harsh critic! My son (3yrs old) doesn't want to watch this as he thinks it is dull. Words are spoken (not always clearly) in Spanish and English and then an accompanying clip is played including a sentence using the word. The words are written on screen which is odd for a preschool DVD. The graphics are only a step up from clip art. The video clips are wobbly and clearly shot using an old personal video camera. The sentence is usually not supported contextually by the clip.It is cheap and you get what you pay for. Have since bought the expensive BBC DVD set which is 8 times the price and value.

Preschooler Learns Spanish DVD
Very useful DVD for teaching your child Spanish. The DVD has common words in both Spanish and English, so a Spanish speaker can also use it to learn English! My daughter knows commonly used words such as parts of the body, verbs, numbers, colours after watching this DVD. It crams a good number of words and phrases that any child would need to learn a new language into one DVD. We are very keen that our child learns another language and found this to be a fun and useful tool. The music is good and attention grabbing.

Spanish learning made easy.
This is a colourful and entertaining little dvd. It is perfect for teaching children Spanish, especially as a first introduction. Easy to grasp and words that are in English and Spanish. I think its a great tool for helping kids with beginning Spanish. The children enjoy it. They play it very often. I find that they are learning words which they use very often. Also good content. Truly a good tool for parents and kids.

Galloping Minds
Galloping Minds -Preschooler Learns Numbers and Counting with Animals, PAL [DVD ]I would not recommend this dvd. I bought it for my 4 year old son. The quality is very poor. It looks like an old vhs tape that requires tracking as the images shake. I was hoping my little boy could learn a few simple words/phrases but it does not capture his attention.

Not Good for teaching European Spanish
This DVD is American and so teaches Latin American pronunciation. For that reason alone, I would not recommend it for use in the UK. The English is also American, which is not a particularly good thing for teaching very young children 2 languages at once. There is no story to the DVD, so you would not expect it to be particularly engaging. However, that did not seem to bother my 22 month old. The main thing that I really disliked about this DVD though was that it teaches words without their gender. I would far recommend First Fun with Spanish over this DVD.
