In collage work, does it wrinkle papers more or less so than (acrylic) Heavy Gel Medium?

It will wrinkle paper as much as any other medium. I have found that wetting my paper before applying to medium onto substrate really helps decrease wrinkling. Happy collaging!

Is the finish gloss or matte? Thanks.

It is more like a satin. It definitely is not matte. Yet it is not like a high gloss either. It has a nice sheen to it but it also is still absorbent so it takes paint nicely. I really like this product alot.

Comparing: As a glue, Liquitex matte gel goes on translucent, dries transparent, so okay getting on front of artwork. Not so with this product?

Don't use this for that! It dries whitish clear in chunks no matter how thin you apply it!

Is this what people use to make DIY lahmian medium for miniature painting?

It thins out the acrylic paint and gives it a matte finish. It’s really just for acrylic paint, which only works with unfinished wood and paper.
