Eterna SH1844DVO Low Energy Dual Voltage Shaver Light

Installation was straightforward. Note that the hole for the wires is in the centre, which is fortunately where my existing wires were. One screw is required towards either end, these are supplied along with rawlplugs (which are adequate, just).One major reason for choosing this light is that it is a lot smaller than many other off-the-shelf shaver lights - though it still doesn't qualify as "compact". In position, it's not as space-dominating as I feared from the dimensions, but in fact looks quite smart with clean lines. It feels solid and reasonably well constructed.The light is bright and near instant, a coolish daylight temperature but not cold. The pullcord is pleasantly springy and decisive. My model doesn't make any discernible noise when on or off, and the shaver socket still works when the light is off (as expected), so you can charge a toothbrush with it.I'm also a big fan of the two standard different voltage sockets, rather than a universal socket with a voltage selector switch like many other similar lights have - this seems like a much better solution. The socket itself has an internal flap to make it very slightly water- and finger-resistant, though it's not anywhere near the standard of the waterproofing for the rest in the fixture.The only real downside is that while this does have a replaceable bulb - many modern shaver lights do not, which is another reason for choosing this! - it takes an unusual type, though they're still fairly easily available. It also claims not to be compatible with A+/A++ rated bulbs (i.e., LEDs), possibly due to heat circulation concerns as LEDs can get very hot in specific areas. These are tiny concerns really.In summary, highly recommended. It's only been installed a fortnight; if any faults develop, I will update this review. Otherwise please assume it's still working well.

I had previously bought the same type over a decade ago when I did the first bedroom en-suite conversion. It has not given any problems. Many luminaries currently on sale are slightly cheaper but have non-replaceable LEDs and are therefore throw away units. The florecent tube in this type is replaceable but only slightly less efficient than the LEDs, but there are also replacement LED tubes available. Do the arithmetic for your usage. Many units have too low a light output, (Lumens), where as this type is just right. Many units on the market are only rated as IP2 for protection against ingress of water and therefore restricted to zone 3 locations, (the shaver sockets are 'floating' being supplied by an isolating transformer and therefore do not require the higher degree of protection). This type is IP4 and could also be used in zone 2 conditions, It was delivered in about half a week after placing the order well inside the one week gaurenteed delivery.

It’s a fine unit, but I was very disappointed with the life of the light bulb. For something that’s meant to be energy efficient etc etc, the fact that they need replacing frequently does negate the point. But then that’s the world we live in - cheaply made, not built to last. More £££ for China.

Great light, does the job at a reasonable cost. The light has the option of sliding the chrome end caps off which I found suited my white bathroon better....very smart now!

Relatively easy to install. A sturdy well-made product. One of the brightest lights available. Highly recommended.

Arrived and installed but unit faulty. Had previous one that only lasted 18 months..should of learnt my lesson.

Good light and quality product. Connecting to the terminal block a little fiddly.
