QRPLV Large Vertical Quick Release Plier

This has made working on air brake systems so much easier! They don't grip well at the low end of the diameter range (the smaller size tool works great, btw), but make the larger lines very easy to remove! Some lines are still a fight, but this tool is well worth it!

The end that's supposed to grab air lines to pull them off doesn't have enough clamping force to really grab the line. 0/10 do not recommend

This is certainly easier on the hands than other methods. Works well on newly installed fittings. In some heating systems, etc., quick connects can get corroded in and this might not work on those.

They take a little bit to get the hang of which is funny because they are so easy to use. Thy definitely work and make life easier.

Even though it says for 3/8 to 3/4, it's a stretch to get it to function on the 3/4 pipes. The "pusher" often slips over the plastic release ring so use a plastic "C" release tool with the pliers. The gripper doesn't grip really well so you often have to press it down with your thumb so it'll grab. Nevertheless, it does make it a bit easier to remove PTC fittings

So, we struggled to use this item initially as the PTC fittings were very tight. Eventually we realized that because the rigid tubing had some slight curvature to it, the result was that it was very difficult to remove. As soon as we started forcing the tube to be straight, and using our hands to help grip the tube in addition to the automatic gripper, the tool started working much better. 4 stars because it works at least as well as any other option. Not 5 stars because it is still a lot of effort to use.
