Perfect for Nature Study
My 6 year old ( big for his age) loves these hiking boots. His school does a nature study hike every Tuesday, so he needed something suitable that wasn't going to leave him blistered or with wet socks every week. Also needed something he can get on and off himself quickly. These are absolutely perfect. And they must be comfortable because he opts to wear them even on days when it is not nature study. Obviously they are Keen brand and they absolutely live up to the Keen reputation. Solid boots, I expect that they will last awhile and be passed down to his cousin.

Good if your kid has slender feet
But my 3-yr old has broad feet and had I known these boots were so slim, I would've gone up one size; just to gain that extra room in front.Other than that, them boots are pretty. They're cleanly stitched; no crooked lines. Even the velcro straps are cleanly sewn up. Some parts of the boots are glued together as expected and even there, the workmanship is neat; barely any smear along the glued edges. Quality work! The soles are thick enough that I think my kid will outgrow these boots before the soles wear out. At $75.00 (at the time of writing this review), it's a fair price for such a good product. It's just that since these are boots for a growing kid, I feel a little uneasy about the $75.00 because in a year or so, they'll be too small already. YMMV.The boots are water resistant for sure; dunno about waterproof. I guess it all depends on what amount of water we're talking about here.

Good.
Overall, they're good shoes. They don't come up really high on the ankles, but it offers decent coverage. The shoes are little heavy and stiff, and there is the potential for blistering around the ankles if your child is unlucky enough to have them rub. The grip on trails is good, too.

Nice comfortable boots for kids!
I bought these for my 11 yo who wears a size 6.5 in athletic shoes, so we ordered 7 and they fit as expected. These are nice boots without laces and instead have an adjustable cord to get them on and off. We cannot currently test the waterproof claim as it is summer right now (we live in a state that gets no percipitation in the summer), but my kiddo cannot wait to test this out this winter! They say that they are nice and comfortable with some good cushioning. They also love the ease of the no laces as they make them much easier to get in and out of the boots. They even think they could run a little bit in these if a surprise PE day comes up, but probably not if they have to run a mile or more. All in all, these are very nice shoes for kids and the brand is well known for quality (we have had some shoes from this brand in the past) so I expect these should hold up well until they are outgrown! I will update this review if anything occurs that others might want to know about. Thank you for reading this review and I hope you found it helpful!

Decent shoes
My daughter likes them. Good for stomping around the wilderness.

Looks great and room for wider feet.
Keen generally produces good quality shoes that, thankfully, are more generous in width and toe box shape than many other mainstream brands. This shoe is no exception. For those with wider feet, these are a good starting point. The little one hasn't put this through the ringer yet, so of course time will tell what the quality is like on this particular boot over time. What I can say now is the colours are awesome and look even better and brighter than in the photos. The sole is seriously non slip and we expect it'll do well in the snow and rain. The shoe isn't overly stiff and allows for relatively easy on and off with good ankle support. No complaints at all from the little one.

Attractive, comfortable, and may make your child run faster
I was excited to see these, we had recently purchased some Keen hiking sandals for my 7 year old and were really impressed with them (he hiked through a muddy rainforest in them!!).I ordered the same size since we had recently purchased from the company and it fit perfectly (2 Big Kid). I chose the sea moss color which is a nice dark green. He has worn them to school every day since getting them and claims that they make him run faster. He has not mentioned any pain or blisters. After a week of use, they still look new. I’ll update if something happens but I’m very pleased with these shoes at this point.

Real laces would be better
The Keen brand is known for high quality, solidly constructed footwear, and these ankle boots are a perfect example. They look and feel heavy duty, but there’s one thing I’m disappointed in… the elastic laces. My daughter tried these on with ankle socks and was trying to tighten them to fit her normal width size 4 feet. She told me they felt a little wide and she couldn’t get them tight enough with the elastic pull cord. They fit her kind of clunky, and I would recommend sizing down if you’re in between sizes. The bottoms do offer great traction, which is necessary in slippery conditions. These would be great if your child has a wide foot, but unfortunately they don’t work for my daughter because her foot slides around too much. I’m hoping by winter and maybe paired with thick wool socks they’ll fit better.
