This is good for grinding leaves and spices. Really easy to use. Its does not spill because of its large diameter. The small mortar I used to have always spill when I hit something inside it. This doesn't have that problem. The wood at the bottom acts as a cushion and does not damage the floor or table top. The heavy stone is really had to carry around. So it is better to keep it at a permanent position. Does not recommend if you want to store it in a high shelf.

I have to say I am HIGHLY impressed. They sent care instructions which explains how to clean it for it's first use and how to season it and then later care instructions. This is important.... Part of the seasoning requires garlic.... They seriously included a garlic peeler (haven't tried so can't say how well it works but still super thoughtful) and .... Wait for it .... A bulb of garlic! Way to go over and beyond. I give lots and lots of stars just from the start. It feels very durable and is beautiful! Thank you so much!

I love the wooden base that is included. The mortar and pestilence work very well and the pestilence is a comfortable size and weight when using. Be sure to read the instructions on how to "season" it before its first use.

I love this product is a beast! It super easy to use. The size accommodates 2 cups. The interior roughness makes it easy to grind products. It’s easy to clean. It’ll last a lifetime. Beware… it’s stout & has some heft to it.
