Quality, coldness

Works great to keep items cool for hours! It looks like this will last a long time unlike other styles that look like tge would easily be broken open spulling jelly like substance over your food and drinks.

Great ice pack

I love this ice pack. It remained frozen for many hours. I used it in a soft sided, freezable cooler as an extra ice pack. It made it through 6 hours and helped to keep all items in cooler frozen. It’s thin enough to not take up too much room in cooler. Froze well and quickly. It seems super durable, but I guess time will tell!

Very good product, highly recommend

Tried this out on the recommendation of a friend.I have not been disappointed. As with all cooler applications, Pre-chilling both the cooler and the contents is paramount for optimal performance. While the Arctic-Ice literature states that you can use it to completely replace the need for standard ice, I have found that for beer cooler/tailgating type use this does not work well. That said, what it does do is virtually eliminate ice melt within the cooler up until the phase change has completely occurred. I put 2-4 2.5lb panels in my K2 20 quart, along with ice and beer, and in my 65 quart Yeti use 2-3 of the 5 lb panels, plus ice and beer. Without having some ice in the cooler, there is too much airspace, which gets filled with warm air each time you open the cooler. This causes the panels to change phase more quickly than desired, and the beer to be slightly warmer than optimal. By using a combination of ice and Chillin Brew panels, you can achieve good ice to beer contact, with a minimum of air space. This will give you very cold beer, and good solid ice for 1 1/2 - 2 days, even with getting in and out of the cooler constantly. This works very well for me, as we typically spend all weekend on the lake, and I virtually never have to add ice to the cooler throughout the weekend.Alternately, if you are looking to pack food for a vacation, camping trip, etc, there is no need for ice, as you won't be getting in and out of the cooler. For this application I really like the panels much better than ice, because you don't end up with a watery mess. One trick I like to do is to put any raw meet in the bottom of the cooler (in plastic bags of course), then put a Arctic Ice panel laying flat on top of it, and put my other fresh items in the top (Fresh items also in plastic bags for safety). If you do happen to end up with a slight leak, the panels are dishwasher safe, making cleanup a breeze.I don't typically try to transport frozen items that absolutely need to stay frozen, nor do I care if my fresh items such as carrots, celery, get a bit frosty. For this reason I find the Chillin' Brew version of the panels to be the only variety of Arctic-Ice that I need. That said, if you want to strictly handle frozen items, or refrigerator temp items, you may want to look at either the Tundra series or Alaskan series.

I ordered wrong size

Not the size I wanted to order, even though its smaller it works really good. They are more expensive than id like but they are good.

Found a great use on accident for these

Bought a couple of the 2.5 pound sizes to use with my RTIC 20 soft-side cooler. Haven't ever used them in that yet. What I found out, quite by accident, is that they work great for keeping the temps cold in my travel-trailer refrigerator. In the past, it always struggled to keep things frozen in the freezer and stuff in the fridge cold. It did a descent job, but left a lot to be desired.I froze the ice blocks in my deep freeze before a trip and I was planning on using them in the RTIC 20. I wanted to keep them frozen for the 2 hour trip, so I threw them in the freezer of the trailer. Due to how the freezer worked in the past, I kinda had my doubts that it would keep them frozen, but it did. Not only that, but my freezer and fridge were at temps I expected, and it hardly ever runs.Making this discovery on accident, I now swap out two of the ice packs in the freezer / fridge. One in the freezer, and one in the fridge. When the one in the fridge melts, then I switch them again. Have to do it about once a day (probably twice when it gets hot), but it really makes the freezer and fridge in my trailer work a lot better, and run a lot less. Since I leave my trailer plugged in at my house all summer long, using these ice packs will probably save more in electricity in a year than what they cost since the fridge won't need to run nearly as often.I'm going to buy a couple of the 5-pound blocks because they will still fit in the fridge and should last an entire day before swapping even in the heat. As a bonus, I could used them in my RTIC 45 cooler too.

Keeps Cooler Cold Overnight!

We bought these in a couple of sizes bc we camp often and are constantly going for more ice. While they won’t be great for multi day trips, they are a huge help for our <24 hour adventures. They fit in our big Rtic cooler and our small day cooler. Super easy and mess-free way to keep things cold and easily rinse off after use.

These changed my life!

I got these(XL) specifically for a Yeti Tundra 65 thinking they’d fit perfectly, and boy was I right. 2 of them fit laying flat in the bottom snug enough that they don’t move around at all and leave enough room for 3 more standing on edge if you really want to go all in on the cold. I use 2 on the bottom with a yeti divider in the middle and maybe 1 more on edge against that.First time out was a 4 day camping trip with a case of “sodas”, food and a bag of ice. On day 3, after frequent use and “soda” reloading, much of the ice had melted, but refroze around the blocks in the bottom. Since then I haven’t bought another bag of ice. I use 2 of these flat in the bottom and a couple(yeti) 2lbs to lay on top and this keeps everything plenty cold for at least 3-4 days, which is about as long as I’m ever out for. Last trip I picked up a 32 can soft cooler and stood 1 up in the middle surrounded by “sodas” and it alone kept things frosty for 2 days with very frequent use and “soda” changes... we seem to go through a lot of soda.Along with a big griddle and a great cooler, these have really upped my camping game. I own camping these days.
