Wonderful alternative to Illustrator if you don't need the missing features
If you're looking at this, you must have considered buying into Adobe's overpriced creative cloud as well. I'm glad I got this instead because the CorelDraw X6 package gives you most of the features you will likely need in a vector drawing software at a fraction of the cost, for as long as you need it, because it's not subscription based. That said, I do use AI at work because of file compatibility issues, but for my own personal work I use CorelDraw. I find it easier to use in general. But AI has a graph drawing tool which I wish CorelDraw would add at some point.Just an additional tip -- if you subscribe to one year of the Corel premium membership, you get to upgrade to X7 for free! At least it was still valid when I did so a few months after X7 was out. I see myself using both CorelDraw X7 and Adobe AI in time to come, each are good but if you're on a budget like me, CorelDraw is worth serious consideration.

Stability problems continue
I have been using it for a couple of weeks on Windows 8.1, as a hobbyist. The algorithms are sublimely powerful. It's moderately priced. It offered an online patch the authors said was intended to address stability problems. After downloading this, the photo editor crashed within the hour. It's possible the problem is with Windows, which also seems to run a bit erratically. But this experience is not too encouraging.

Would not buy again
I needed software that could be used to do vector drawing. Someone recommended Coreldraw as an inexpensive, capable piece of software that was easy to learn and use. That may be, but I'll never know. It will not work properly on my machine, (Win 7 x64). Figured I'd start out by watching the included tutorials. The tutorials won't run. They complained about needing Flash installed. Okay I installed flash and restarted my system. Still complained about needing Flash. Clicked on CorelDraw's link to Flash and installed again. Same thing - need Flash installed. After several iterations of this, I ran other software that requires Flash to be installed before it would run. It ran just fine. So did a second piece of software. Not CorelDraw's tutorial. I stopped there as I need the tutorials to learn how to use the software, and they don't work.I'll call Tech support, but I ran into the next surprise. Even though I paid full price for this package, you only get 90 days of support, and only 1 incident in that time period. (You can pay extra for tech support that should be included, (in my opinion)). Time to return this Piece Of Software. Corel will only accept returns on software purchased from them. Looks like I'm out $400.

Couldn't get it to work
I currently use Corel Draw with my laser business. After loading X6 I could not get the lasers to run properly. I had to uninstall the program and use the old one.

Think I just need a lot more time to learn this product, not intuitively obvious or user friendly.
I'm a Photoshop power user and this software is very difficult for me to even get started with. I was expecting to be able to design logos by being able to take a block of type and actually skew and do some transitions on it. Thus far I have not been able to figure it out. The paint and website portion of the software is something I would not use as I have Dreamweaver and Photoshop.I felt that Corel was my only option as I do not appreciate Adobe's new Creative Cloud computing money making scheme. However I do like the Adobe products.Guess I just have to take more tutorials on Corel to see what it is that I bought and can't use properly yet!

Easy and fun to learn
Never knew I could learn the basics of graphic art. This program is amazing and so versatile. Perfect for logo designing for teams and informal designs for weddings, etc. Also, very fun to play with. For the advanced artists, I can see how it would be the gold standard.

Forced to switch back by Adobe's crazy subscription-only approach
I'm a Corel Draw user from way back. (My first version was Corel Draw 3.) I always had a few issues with the way the Corel software tried to "fight" with the Windows operating system, and eventually I switched over to Adobe Illustrator, which seemed much more powerful at the time. I think this was around Illustrator version 4. In any case, I stuck with Illustrator until they decided to abandon the conventional user-licensing arrangement and went subscription-only. After that, I tried to rely on public-domain vector drawing tools and software from smaller companies, but nothing was really working the way I had hoped. I finally needed to revise some figures that had been developed in Corel Draw for publication in an international standard, and purchased this version (one behind the currently available one.)I'm very happy to be back in the Corel Draw environment, and thrilled at the additional power and functionality. Would have stuck with Illustrator, but nothing else works the way Corel Draw does.

Great when it works
Shipping was super fast... the program however keeps shutting down. I would not recommend this to anyone, unless they have a lot of time to keep redoing their projects. My CorelDraw has had problems since day one. I will be in the middle of the project and go to save it and it will say its encountered an error and needs to close--loosing everything I have just worked on! It doesn't automatically save (if it does idk where it saves it at or whether I can change it). I have lost numerous hours to my time because this thing keeps giving me error codes. I have also uninstalled and and reinstalled it more times than what I should of. I will not be buying this product again. For all the money I spent on this thing, you would think that it would work. Also would think that their customer service would be a little more helpful than telling you that you have to pay $20+ for them to fix the problem when it's CORELDRAW to begin with!
