SONGMICS Kitchen Trash Can, 10.5 Gallon (40 L) Large Step Bin with Lid

This garbage can helps control odors SO MUCH. I'm using it specifically for my rabbit area, and I throw all their used litter into here. Rabbit litter smells like a literal zoo, if you didn't know, and a few minutes after closing the lid on this thing (and the lingered scent dissipates from the air) you can no longer smell it. The size of the can works well with standard 13 gallon kitchen garbage bags. I've attached a video showing how easy it is to put in a new bag (and it's even easier removing it, of course). It does come with some bags, but the drawstrings have a tendency to rip right off just FYI. The lid will stay open if you pull it back far enough, which is really nice for when I'm cleaning out the litter and don't have to keep reopening it. The soft close works perfectly and the lid never makes noise when closing. The pedal works great and it's also easy to open the lid by hand when necessary. The only thing I don't love is that there's a recessed space where the soft close mechanism is (photo attached, it's circled in blue) and this has a tendency to hold small pieces of refuse that can be hard to remove. But that's really the only "problem" I have with this, and it's a pretty small issue, so I'm still really happy with it and would recommend it!

The 10.5 peach fuzz color is beautiful and w my soft white and mini-ish color walls this will look nice! This is my 4 th garbage can. I bout double , cream!! Love ❤️ it! Have 8 gallon cream, 13 gallon silver… very happy w this company!!

I've never written a love song to a trashcan, but I am doing so now. It's a trashcan, but it looks good, it works great, the size is perfect,* and it's priced right. Here are the deets: I've had it for a few months now and it's like it's always been here, not because it looks like it's old, but because it's very neutral in its design and fits right in. I love the open top design. That means the top will stay open if I set it up that way, and it will close after use if I set it up that way. And remember, it's a trashcan, so setting it up is pretty easy. *Here's what I meant about the size getting a star. When the top is set to stay open, the top is vertical, leaving the opening fully accessible. But, it turns from a medium height can to a tallish one, and it still fits under the overhang in the kitchen island. When I need it close, I simply drag it over, and when I'm done, I move it back to its resting place under the island overhang. And the price is right. And, it's easy to find liner bags for it cause it's a standard size. It's just about perfect. No faults, from my perspective.

It is a good kitchen trash can. The lid is very easy to open and close. I do not know why it always moves a little every few days.

This trash can was exactly what I thought it would be based on the description and fits perfectly. It arrived in a thick cardboard box and the trashcan itself was wrapped up inside the box, so I didn't have any issues with dents like I saw in some of the other reviews. I got the 10.5 Gallon (40 L) size and 13 gallon tall kitchen trash bags fit well.

3 Stars — Looks good from far, but not as advertised This trash can is… fine. It does the job, but I’m disappointed because it’s not what was pictured. The biggest issue: the pedal is not matte black. It’s a brushed, silvery metal that immediately stands out and breaks the clean, all-black look shown in the listing. If you’re buying this for a cohesive, minimal aesthetic, this matters more than you’d think. Also, the SONGMICS logo is much more visible and prominent than expected. In the photos it either isn’t shown or looks subtle, but in person it’s noticeable and honestly kind of cheapens the overall look. Functionally, it works. The size is good, the lid closes fine, and it seems decent for the price. But visually, it’s just not as clean or intentional as advertised. If you don’t care about those details, it’s a perfectly usable trash can. But if you’re particular about finishes and design, just know it’s not quite what you see in the photos.
