This one works with a Canon HF G70 Camcorder. I tried a more expensive unit that would not work. Decided to send that one back and ordered this one. It works both hardwired and wireless. I would recommend this if you need a remote control.

Canon XF-605, with current firmware, appears to work perfectly with these remotes (I have two identical cams). Love the feel and the ease of setup. They clamp on to the tripod handle and, boom! The thumb focus control feels great and I think I'm going to be very happy with these, which can be used wireless or wired (hardware included). Not sure if two can be run wireless in the same shoot as they may be on the same frequency...that would be a bit of a drag...but I haven't gotten that far yet.Bottom line....zoom, iris, focus, record buttons all work.

I ordered and use this for a multi camera setup on my Canon Vixia GX70 cameras. It has worked flawlessly well over 100’ away. It works so well I ordered another one for another camera.

For years, filming family events and kids games was the usual ... pull out the camcorder and record. When the kids advanced to higher-end club soccer, I got a Sony FDR-AX700 for my birthday: filming games became a hobby, but something was not right. With a tripod, clicking record, stop, zoom-in, zoom-out, became a pain. After a little research, not being an expert, I took the risk of ordering the Wireless Camcorder LANC Remote Control for my Sony. Oh my ... A GAME CHANGER!!! If you want the memories, while enjoying the game, get the Remote Control. Easy to connect, as long as you have a LANC (may be called something else depending on the camera), easy to use ... just fantastic. For the price, hardly blinking if your camera is $1,000 to $2,000.Oh, and while you are at it, to really boost the fun, get a Field Monitor (I got the Newer F100). I look like a geek or pro on the sidelines ... I do not care, it is about getting the clips for myself, for the family. And ... many people come and ask if I can get them clips. For our club team, we use Trace, but the quality is nowhere near what the Sony with the equipment can do.This "gadget" makes the hobby feel great!

Good item for remote on my Canon camcorder.Wireless feature not so good, wired up to camera is better but limits distance of operation due to cordage.

I have attached this remote to my shoulder rig hand grip. It has not had a full workout yet, but so far, testing shows it to be an excellent choice. I fully appreciate the ability to adjust the speeds for the focus and iris, as choosing the lower speeds will give more control. The zoom lever has a wide range of movement which helps with the smoothness of the zoom. I'm not sure at this point if I will use the wired connection with the video camera, or the wireless. Both work. The wired connector has the drawback of being a wire, but the wireless plug on the camera could conceivably fall out and be lost, although it doesn't seem prone to doing that. The wired connection needs no batteries in the unit to work.

LCD Panel became unresponsive and display froze after a few seconds of use. Made multiple attempts to resolve the problem - including changing batteries (several times!) and trying the unit on four different cameras (Canon XF605, Canon XF400, Canon XA50 and Canon G70) - all to no avail. Returned unit to Amazon and requested a refund. Pity, as this had the potential to be a very useful piece of kit.
