These bad boys work so good, I give them away to friends that don't use, or have a good thermometer.. every one of there products is VERY WELL designed with the end user in mind. The features it is equiped with really pay off.. light up screen, it flips around automatically so your blind butt can see it the easiest.., magnet on the back side, auto shut off when fold it back it or lay it down I think, internal temps on back side.. very simple, yet extremely effective unit. Buy and extra and give it away, they ARE that good.

Great for outdoor grilling!
This little probe has improved my grilling results by taking the guesswork out of measuring done-ness. It registers temperature quickly, usually under 3 seconds, and the display is bright enough to see even in the crazy bright North Carolina summer sunshine, yet not blinding in the dark of night. Results are slightly slower in colder weather, and can take up to 8 seconds or so if it's in the 50-60 degree F range, but that is to be expected due to the cooler initial probe temperature. I have not tried this in the dead of winter and the time will probably be up to 30 seconds if the probe begins the measurement from freezing. The folding construction is nice and keeps the very sharp probe tip from accidentally skewering fingers, and the effort required to open and close it feel appropriate to hold the probe at any angle, from fully closed to fully open. Folded or open, it weighs appropriately for its size and feels good in-hand.Default temp scale is chosen with a physical switch, so it stays at the units you select, Fahrenheit or Celsius (it is inside the water-resistant battery door, so it's a set-and-forget option) and a handy magnet allows mounting on the side of the grill's tray (not the hot part--it would melt) or your fridge. The display intelligently flips to enable reading no matter which angle you are holding it at, but if you take readings with the unit being almost flat on its back, it is possible to see the display flip to display numbers upside down. Fortunately, a slight change of angle is all that's needed to set the display right. There is a hold button on the front of the display which will pause the temperature reading from changing for those who may have trouble registering the value when the display temperature changes quickly or is useful to keep the temperature on screen if you had to put the probe in the roast at an angle where seeing the display was difficult. Hold time is around 1.5 seconds.A handy key for temperatures of various meats is on the back by type, but only for common meats, so if you're making Brontosaurus burgers, you'll have to do your own research. No complaints here about this handy, compact, functional product! I've owned this product for around 4 months with no battery changes (it's 1xAAA) required yet, and I am happy to recommend it!

Love this
Much faster than my old one. Accurate. Best part, just magnet to fridge/grill and it's always handy. Great value. Have had no issues.

Very nice. Quick to temp. Easy to read
Really like this one. Better than my Javelin Pro. This is quick to read temp and very easy to read, during the day or night. Very reliable. Trust it more than my other....

Must-Have Tool, Especially For Deep Frying. Accurate, But NOT INSTANT. More Like 5 - 10 Seconds.
Purchased on 01-19-2023 for $25.49.This is my first digital thermometer. Definitely reads temperatures much quicker than analog thermometers. Probably more accurate, too.The handle is fairly large. It measures 6 1/2” long and 1 9/16” at the widest point. The metal probe (exposed) is 4 1/4”, but the tip of the spear (1/2”) is where the temperature is measured. It has a temperature range from -58° F to 572° F (-50° C to 300° C) with a claimed accuracy to within +/- 0.9° F for temperature readings between 14° F and 212° F (+/- 0.5° C between -10° C and 100° C).I don't have another thermometer with VERIFIED temperature readings, so I checked it using the ice water method. I filled a glass cup full of ice cubes, then filled it with tap water. Waited about 15 minutes, then took multiple readings over the next 10 minutes from the top 1/3 of the glass. It consistently came back @ 32.5° F to 32.7° F. So, it's accurate enough.I don't know how accurate the reading is at 300° F, 350° F, 400° F, 450° F, 500° F, etc. I have no way to calibrate to any of those temperatures. All I can say is that when the deep fry temperature shows 350° F, the oil exhibits the telltale indicator of bubbles rising from the immersed portion of wooden chopsticks. Also, batter and panko react as expected when dropped in the oil, so I know the temperature is *around* 350° F.If you deep fry often, you know it's critical to have the oil at the correct temperature for whatever it is that you're cooking. Too low, oil gets absorbed into the meat/vegetable or batter/coating, and your food comes out oily/greasy. Too hot, not cooked through on the inside, but overcooked on the outside. The temperature reading is NOT INSTANT. The manufacturer claims 2 to 3 seconds. It's more like 5 to 10 seconds. There is no ON/OFF switch that you push or flip. It turns ON when the metal probe is pivoted open around 20°, and turns OFF when pivoted close. If you forget to fold the probe closed, it'll go into "sleep" mode after @ 90 seconds. It awakens when picked up.Depending on which hand you hold and probe the thermometer, the readout will flip to the correct orientation. There is a LOCK button that holds the temperature display for @ 5 seconds, and a selection button on the back to choose between Fahrenheit and Celsius. There's a hole on the handle for a lanyard or to hang the thermometer on a hook, and a magnet on the back to stick it onto a refrigerator. If you find that the accuracy may have drifted, there is a button inside the battery compartment (one AAA) to reset it to the factory calibration.Lastly, it's supposed to be waterproof. I consider it splashproof. I'm not submerging it in water to test it, then find out that it wasn't! Besides, I don't have a need for this to be waterproof---no underwater cooking for me.All in all, I'm happy with this digital thermometer. I should've switched sooner to digital.

I bought another one!
I purchased this exact same brand/model of the ThermoPro TP19 Waterproof Digital Meat Thermometer on April 15, 2024. My wife and I were both so pleased with this meat thermometer that we bought this, our second, to go in our travel trailer. Compact, accurate, easy to use and easy to read, more than competitively priced, its a great value. We both recommend it.

Very fast, and accurate
By far the best I’ve owned. Really like how the led switches if you’re holding it upside down. Fits great in the hand. Nice and strong magnet. A great addition to my bbq and smoker.

Seems accurate. Easy to use. Good value.
I was originally considering buying the much touted but quite expensive ThermaPen MK4 instead, but I decided to take a chance on this less expensive ThermoPro. Both use "thermocouple" technology for measuring temperature (as opposed to thermistor technology), which can produce faster read times and allow for the temperature sensor to be positioned further into the tip of the probe. I especially liked the idea of the sensor being in the tip of the probe, and having the speed and accuracy to be able to read temperature gradients at each layer and area within the food.In any event, the technology details are irrelevant unless it's designed and assembled properly. And I have not been disappointed thus far. The ThermoPro TP19 seems to be able to read the various temperature gradients and seems more than adequate for the purposes of general kitchen use.Read times are usually within a few seconds and after testing the calibration with a specially prepared ice bath (using an insulated container filled at least 70% full with ice and topped up and stirred with cold water and then taking the temperature after letting it sit 10 mins and looking for 0.0 Celsius reading), I also have confidence in the temperature readings. There was some fluctuation when I was taking the ice bath temperature, which amounted to + or - about half a degree celsius depending on where I measured, how long the ice bath had been sitting, and how well stirred the water was , but even if it was out a full degree or two, that is more than enough accuracy for my purposes. The more important factor is speed for me, and the ThermoPro is also adequate on that front. Yes, the ThermaPen MK4 might be faster to give readings (and while I have not tested both side-by-side comparing read times, others online have), but it's also more than double the price (and perhaps 3x the price, especially for Canadians with USD-CAD exchange, shipping, duties, etc).Overall, I think this is good value and will suit most people.
